Leather and Vinyl Repair Kit Black - Repair, Recolor & Restore Couch, Furniture, Auto Interior & Car Seats

This product worked well to patch small punctures/tears in the vinyl of 2 kitchen chairs. Each spot was not large, but I feared that if we didn’t repair them, they would only get worse. The kit is small, so I had more than enough to fix two chairs with plenty left over. It would not be enough to repair a large area of damage, anything much larger than 2” x 2”. The kit comes with a small square of test vinyl that was helpful. I didn’t want my chair to look like a three-year-old glued and painted on it, so I did the following: I taped off a small square that would be my patch area, and using the spatula provided, filled it with a layer of adhesive. I immediately pulled off the tape ( I found that letting it dry first pulled off the edges of the adhesive). Once that patch dried, I repeated the process until the tear was adequately covered. You can see from the attached photos that the adhesive goes on white, but dries clear. I could have stopped here, but I chose to cover it with the coloring agent as well. For the coloring agent, I also taped off an area, but found that I got better results using a paintbrush and putting on a very thin layer. Again, I removed the tape while it was wet. The color I purchased was very dark brown and it wasn’t a bad match. The attached picture shows my final patch with the dry coloring agent. From a distance, it is not too noticeable. Overall I was happy with this product. I don’t think there is anything you could use that would be completely unnoticeable, but I think this looks respectable and hope it will at least keep the tears from getting worse for now.

It worked on my small tear on the arm of my leatherosclerosis couch. Luckily my couch has a tough and rugged look by design. The kit is basically a small piece of clothing you put under the hole them paint the are over with what is acrylic paint. Not complicad and perfect but will by couch will live on

I fixed a 6 inches V shaped rupture on a jacket, the glues is fairly tie, but it is clearly visible due to the rupture too big and the glue part no texture and shining ( the liquid color is helpless) , what I should do is put on piece cloth right after the glue application, it may have some texture effects, just a thought.

I am so very happy with this purchase. I have a reclining expresso brown leather loveseat & sofa, it matched and covered the worn areas perfectly! It was so easy to use, no mixing like others for sale, I don't have the time or patience for that, nor the money to waste if it didn't work out right. to try to get the color match. It comes with a spatula, but I recommend using a small sponge or one of those throw-away sponge paint brushes to apply. It went on evenly and smoothly. If you don't have dark expresso brown leather furniture it will be too dark. I also recommend wearing a pair of disposible gloves. It's like having a new sofa! This is my 3rd order of the Espresso (dark brown) color.

This product is pink that’s the first problem. But I thought it would be better to make the repair than have it continue to tear. Carefully followed the directions and it honest looks horrible. Did not adhere evenly (I’m an artist so believe me I have excellent technique) and dried to have a weird blotchy look. Not worth the time or money. Camel is a tannish color not pink!

The leather sample color exactly matched what I was trying to repair. In fact, I used it as a patch. The glue for repairing also worked great. Goes on white but dries to clear. Unfortunately, the color paint/patch was much lighter. It said dark brown and looked that way in the bottle. But when I applied it, it was at best a medium brown. I thought it might dry darker, but it didn't. Now I have this much lighter color on my item - which, by the way, is a headboard for a bed.

I didn't hold out much hope of remparing this stool it sat upside down for weeks in a damp spot. This product did exactly as it said. I took my time did it in stages and the stool looks better than the other 5. I was facing a 500.00 replacement without being sure I could get the same dye lot as the stools were 10 years old.. Take a chance, it works
