Unigear Waterproof Gaiters for Men and Women, Hiking Gaiters for Walking

Fit was good and did align to the size chart shown. I used these for a very wet muddy winter walk and they did the required job of keeping much of the thick Cotswold mud off me and stopped most of the splash from soaking me. The front seam makes putting these on and taking them off fairly straight forward. The cinch type strap at the top did a good job at helping keep these in place. They seem robust and well made and cleaned up ok afterwards.

Neat fit and very comfortable. Easy to put on and the Velcro fastening, once adjusted, kept the gaiters in place. You don’t realise you’re wearing them. Kept my legs warm in the snow and cold conditions in Norway. Also kept my trousers clean from splashing when walking. Highly recommended.

First bought these in Nov 23, absolutely brilliant and still going strong, very robust for searching in thick undergrowth. Have just purchased a second pair in exactly the same size. Same length and circumference but the upper part of these gaiters is no longer as robust material, not as thick and feels like it will tear if having to go through thorns, unlike my first pair, hence 4 stars. Shame they changed the material, would rather have paid more for the strength. We shall see how long these last.

I bought these for my 'rambling' wifelet. They look so smart on as they are slightly longer than the ones they are replacing, and come up to just below the knee. She LOVES them. She especially wanted velcro fitting gaiters as they are far easier to fasten and take off. A TIP HERE! The Velcro on them is VERY, VERY VERY strong, so I went on line to find out how to make them slightly easier to unfasten, but eventually came up with my own solution which worked a treat. I sprayed the length of the 'hook' side with just a little WD 40, and the difference was fantastic! (In time of course, they will not need this treatment.)

Volunteering for Search and Rescue means going out in all weathers, often through muddy, rough areas and usually encountering brambles / thicket. I've worn these on two searches which have been muddy and so far they've been up to the job. They have withstood some brambles without tearing, but time will tell. For reference, I'm 6ft 2", and have size 12.5 (UK size) feet and big calf muscles, so ordered the XL size... they are big and comfortable, but also have space left around the calf, so are quite big to size... I probably would have got away with a L.

Inaccurate sizing info, circumstance of my calf is 37cm hence I bought size Small which, according to the sizing chard should be ok for 40cm. It's too tight with leggings on. It won't fit if I wore jeans. Returning it and reordering size M as the item itself looks good quality.

These gaiters are really great. I've taken them on some tough hikes and they're bearing up well. The Velcro closure is very easy to fasten, and it's thick enough that it provides some padding on your shin. They're tough and durable without being too weighty, and the extra stiffness means that they stay up, compared to lesser quality gaiters that tend to bunch up round your ankles when they get wet. I've worn them with waterproof boots hiking through streams and my feet remained dry, so I can confirm they are waterproof. I had a small issue with the purchase that required correspondence with the manufacturers, and they could not have been more friendly, prompt and helpful.

Good - quite big for me though. I should have gone smaller in size.

Bardzo solidnie wykonane, jak na załączonych zdjęciach. Mam wątpliwości co do paska zapinanego pod podeszwą (wykonany z tworzywa sztucznego podobnego do silikonu, ale się nie rozciąga), niemniej gdyby kiedyś się uszkodził, to jest dodatkowy haczyk pozwalający umocować do sznurówki obuwia, to wystarczy. Bardzo solidne zapięcie, jak i materiał z jakiego są wykonane.

Die Gamaschen haben mich in die schottischen Highlands begleitet und ich muss sagen, ich habe erst an Ihnen gezweifelt aufgrund Klettverschluss zum Verschließen. Als wir schön in den Sümpfen unterwegs waren, kamen Sie zum ersten mal zum Einsatz. Das Anlegen hat etwas länger gedauert als bei Anderen die einen Reißverschluss hatten. Der Klettverschluss war überraschen stabil und selbst nach viel Wassereinfluss, im Sumpf mit dem Fuß versinken und Kontakt mit Bewuchs, Ästen, Steinen muss ich sagen, der Reißverschluss hielt bombenfest. Am Fuß ist noch ein kleiner Quer Reißverschluss, der zur Sicherung dient. Gebraucht hätte es ihn nicht, es hielt alles. Die Fußschlaufe ist gut verstellbar und einfach in einer Schlaufe verstaubar, so dass sie beim Laufen nicht stört. Das Anlegen war relativ einfach und ging recht gut, dank der tollen Passform der Gamaschen. Sie sind höchst wasserabweisend und haben keinen einzigen Tropfen durch gelassen. Mein Schuh war immer geschützt ! Selbst als ich im Sumpf stand mit Schuh unter Wasser (Der Schuh sollte hierfür natürlich auch wasserdicht sein ;-) ) Die Gamaschen haben es unbeschadet überstanden und einen großartigen Dienst geleistet. Im Gegensatz zu Mitreisenden, die Gamaschen mit Reißverschluss gewählt hatten. Dort war der Verschluss oft verschmutzt und musste gereinigt werden, bevor man ihn verschließen konnte. Einem ist der Reißverschluss sogar gerissen. Das passiert mit Klett nicht. Und Verschmutzung ist absolut kein Problem - sie lassen sich immer verschließen. Rundum ein tolles Produkt, das nicht viel wiegt und sehr schnell trocknet. Würde ich ohne Frage jederzeit wieder kaufen !

These have superseded my expectations and have become regular gear when I go out hiking and exploring. They are comfortable and provide lower leg protection from brush- particularly thorny brush. They have held up well traversing through the woods. The second, yet equally important reason for investing in a pair of leg gators is for tick prevention. I live in a high Lyme area. I tuck my socks but wanted extra protection. I spray my gators, shoes, pants, ans shirts with Sawyer permetherin spray. It works well with the fabric and I feel better knowing ticks have less chance finding their way on to my skin. I love the fit of these gaitors! They feel very sturdy/durable yet flexible. I wanted a pair thag had the reinforced canvas in the inside of the leg for better durability. I like that they are cut to shape over the ankle and provide coverage that is flexible- allowing your boots to move without disturbing the position of the gators. I appreciate the ability to tighten the adjustment at the top of the leg to ensure a snug, but comfy fit. The velcro is strong! They are waterproof! And they look good! I have worn them over my leggings as well as over my North Face light weight hiking pants. I will say I'm not sure how breathable they are. I'm really not sure how any waterproof material can be truly breathable. So, I suppose the only downside is despite being light weight, if you are out in warm weather, I will likely have warmer/more sweat on my lower legs down through my ankles- the area the gaitors occupy. I do have temperature regulation issues so I can't say my experience is the norm on that matter. ***Pro Tip*** Word to the Wise: do NOT use bug spray with DEET on these gaitors or shoes or even clothing. I do enough research and used it and it 1. Left an oily ick on my items and 2. Started melting the adhesives and materials on my gaitors and shoes, so much so that I had to order a new pair of gaitors and shoes. ***Upon more research, DEET can weaken or melt plastics and artificial synthetics like nylon, spandex, rayon (viscose), and acetate. DEET can also degrade breathable, waterproof membranes like waterproof Gortex. Instead, if you want to protect against ticks and mosquitos you should spray your gear and clothing with permetherin as it designed specifically to bond to clothing fibers safely without damaging them. Once it is dry, there is little to no transfer to the skin. As mentioned above, I use Sawyer Permetherin spray and that has caused no degradation or residue on my gaitors. I wear zero drop barefoot ankle high boots. I was worried the strap underneath would slip with no heel to hold it in place but that has not been and issue. I also often wear medical grade ankle braces and they fit perfectly under these gaitors. For reference, my calf measurement is 15" and the Small fits well over leggings and hiking pants.

I love to hike in the winter! I just tried these last weekend and they are fabulous. They kept all the snow out of my laces and from going in around the top of my hiking boot. The strap that goes under your boot and little hook that grabs onto your laces keeps.them from getting pushed up by the snow. They are easy to put on and stayed secure for my entire 5 km hike in deep snow. They would also work great on a muddy day and would keep the mud from splashing up onto your pants. I highly recommend this Canadian made product...they know snow!!
