Accurate, excellent quality, and easy to use!
The item arrived safely and comes delivered in retail packaging and with the camera you get a carry case, USB charge cable and the user guide. The quality of the camera is very good, its well-made and it looks like it can stand up to a fair amount of abuse (2m drop protection) as the whole body of the camera is covered in a rubber housing. The carry case is also a nice addition and helps to keep the camera safe. Turning it on takes about 10 seconds and you are greeted with a clear and easy display to read. It hasn’t got a ton of options which makes it nice and simple to operate, there are three different colour scales to choose from and you can view the temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit. If you insert a memory card then you can take images to view later, the images are saved in BMP format with a resolution of 320 x 240. A thermal camera is such a useful device to have as it can identify problem areas such as cold spots in radiators, thermal weaknesses in walls, and tons of other things. Although not in the trade I do build high specs computers and the camera really helps to visualise the hotter areas inside the case and where I need to concentrate the fans on. The camera is quick to give readouts and shows the high and low points as well as a readout on what you have centred on screen. Its easy to see/know what your looking at and it seems very accurate as the temperature of an object in the room reads the same as the ambient temperature according to my thermometer. Every now and then while using it the camera freezes for a few seconds while it calibrates, or you can manually do this by pressing the right-hand button. Overall, considering how expensive these thermal cameras can be I feel Klein Tools have made an excellent product that is compact, easy to use and high quality all while being priced very competitively. It’s a very useful gadget and one that I’m more than happy to recommend, an easy five stars from me!

Perfect tool to keep in your work bag!
As an architect, a thermal imaging camera comes in extremely handy for checking cold spots and air flow. It can be used on an existing building to help me design a better solution or for checking something was built properly with insulation without uncovering walls. I thought I would try this one because it’s a small self contained unit that doesn’t require a phone connection or bulky carry case. Getting this device out of the packet you can instantly see how small but premium the product is. It’s built very well with an orange textured rubber surrounding it to absorb any drops and make it easy to hold. The screen on the back is bright and the temperatures are easy to see. It gives you the centre point, high and low. The power and camera button are on the top with menu controls on the back, there are a number of items to customise including the colour scheme, brightness and emissivity. It only has a low resolution of about 10000 pixels which is on par with the entry level Flir ones however for most trades people this should be more than enough to diagnose problems and and understand the thermals on site, having used larger more expensive models this does everything I need from it. This one doesn’t have an image sensor in it to take normal pictures like some of the others but again it’s not something I miss. The best part about this is it’s size and accuracy, it works best when you’re within a few meters and has a fairly narrow field of view to focus on particular areas. I have noticed that if you move it around quickly it takes a few seconds to calibrate itself and this will freeze the screen so you either have to move it slowly or get it in position and wait. Overall I’m very impressed with this little device and it’s perfect for taking everywhere with me just in case. It’s completely self contained and charges with a micro usb so I don’t have to carry batteries around. There are better ones on the market but not in this price range and certainly not this small. Hopefully my review has been helpful.

Compact and Easy to Use
The thermal imaging camera is extremely compact and very comfortable to grip. The outer case is padded and feels like it would take small impacts and protect the unit. There are 3 colour scales to choose from (1 being black and white then 2 different colour) to help choose the best scale which suits the situation. When you point the unit at your designated area, any hot spots instantly stand out in red, the cold areas in blue, and in between green/yellow. This makes it easy to find hot spots in both domestic (see attached photo of extension socket) and commercial (see attached photo of inside a BMS control panel). During my investigation of a control panel I found no problems, only transformers and relay coils showing heat. However had there been any loose power connections, these would have shown up as red, and the panel could have been corrected. Another nice feature is that the temperature of the object you are pointing at is displayed in the top left hand corner of the screen. This was test against calibrated temperature probes and found to be accurate. This was useful in checking the temperatures of sensors on site that was experiencing cold temperatures. The only flaw I found with this unit was that it does not warn if the memory card is full. During my first site investigation I pushed the shutter button to take many photos and at no time did it give a photo failed message. When I got back to download the images I found there were none. I deleted all the files off the memory card and it worked perfectly. I now know that the camera will prompt each time if you wish to save the photo when the card is not full, and it does not do this when the card is full. The images are saved in BMP format and are 320 x 240 resolution, this is not large if you were doing photography, but more than big enough for thermal imagining purposes. The imager came with a USB charging lead and a zip carry case.

This is really good thermal camera
This is really easy to use thermal camera. Just one button to power it on and after initialisation it is ready to go. It looks like it is made to last as it looks really sturdy All port as covered with rubber sealing which will give it some protection from dust and maybe water. As I couldn't find any IP rating on the box and on the description I would keep it away from water, just to be on the safe side. On the box I found a little symbol that looks like 2M drop protection, but I couldn't find any information about it,so I would make sure that I don't drop it. The camera is small in size and will fit in a pocket without issues. It comes with a storage case which can store the charging cable and the instructions as well. This thermal camera works really good. I am using it to find insulation gaps around the house. As the weather is cold right now,it shows colder temperature on the places where I have to put draught excluder. It shows colder temperature as it shows the cold air coming in from outside. Recommend it. Hopefully my review was Helpful for you.

High res screen is easy to read
I like the screen resolution it's so much better than my old gun type, this is also much better being smaller and less unwieldy than my old one, the micro sd slot is great for recording work to show clients too and switchable from Celcius to Fahrenheit and I like that I can select the colours, I like the build quality it's very rugged and built to last also, all in all, it's a great thermal imager.

Compact, bright, accurate and rugged.
We had a play with this today to check the temperature of the tyres to check the heat distruption and if they are wearing evenly. Nice compact monitor which is fully wireless due to it being able to be recharged. The LCD screen is bright and we could even see the screen on a bright cold morning in direct sunlight. It was simple to use and you can change the colour pallette as well. There is an SD slot on the device if you want to record or capture your readings. I have not tried this yet but I think it will record the image which you can download onto your computer or recall back on the monitor itself. You can set this up to record temperatures and sound an alarm if it exceeds a temperature range. Accurate readings which adjustable emissivity and the versatility to be used in lots of diffrent scenarios. Compact and so far great battery life. Comes with a case to store it in although its a rugged device and charging cable but no sd card so you will need to get one if you want to record your readings externally.

It’s very small - like a toy. Ugly blocky pixels. SD card capture is good. Overall WORKS WELL
This is a robust, nifty little device. It takes about 5 seconds to boot up. This seems very robust. The screen (and the device) is tiny. The first thing I did was change from Farenhite to Centigrade. The second thing I did was insert a MicroSD card so I could take "photos". I love that this works in the dark - I don't know what technology it's using. The pixels on the screen are big. Sometimes, as I move it around and point it at different things, the screen will just freeze. At the time of writing the price is £350 - this seems very high given that it's $250 (yes dollars) in the USA. .·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·. UPDATE 1 ======= This has been freezing every now and then. The picture on the screen freezes for a few seconds. UPDATE 2 ======== ⚠️ it has now just frozen again, but I CANNOT EVEN TURN IT OFF. In other words, none of the buttons work, including the power button. 😩😩 I came back about 20 mins later and it hard turned itself off .·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·.·:*¨*:·. 🏆 I'm reducing my rating because of the freezing issues, and because it seems Brits are being charged an extra £100 (at least) for seemingly no reason. UPDATE 3 ======== The images saved to your MicroSD card (not included) are very tiny and in BMP (bitmap) format - not JPEG. That means the tiny images take up more space than they need to. ⭐ The images look WAY BETTER on my computer screen (compared to the device's screen) - but they are still a paltry 320 × 240 pixels

Great for checking draught but the machine stutter a little every now and again
This thermal imager is quite reasonably priced for what it does. A decent imager can cost upwards of £1000 or even £10k. This is great for checking windows and doors to see where you have cold spots and allows you to target those areas, work on your insulation precisely. There are some handy settings such as: Celsius to Fahrenheit, options to colour palettes showing on screen, hi/lo temperature alarms. The imager will track the highest and lowest temperature on screen and automatically shows the high and low temperature on the temperature bar. You can also point at an area of interest to find out the temperature using the focal point in the centre. The camera housing is made for impact. It claims that it can take up to falls from 2m high. It looks water resistance and tough with rubber paddings and recesses to protect the screen from cracking. It can take photos and store on microSD card (not included) and there is no internal storage. It comes in a large-enough carry pouch that you can easily put everything inside. Charging is via micro USB, one cable is included. One thing I am not sure is every now and again the image freezes for a couple of seconds to calibrate itself, just a little stutter, but it is acceptable - boarder line annoyance. Overall, this is a great device that will be suitable for checking heat or cold spots with decent accuracy. I do recommend this for its versatility and it is easy to carry around.

Best price on a very useful tool
Works out of the box as advertised. I would complain that the USB cable it came with didn't work, but it's so common that I have 10 others hanging around here anyway. It did give me 2 min of sweating that the socket was the issue when it didn't charge out of the box though! This, coupled with a current limited power supply, will be a huge time saver when fault finding electronics. Or if you lose a pet in the bushes, for that matter.

An excellent diagnostic tool for those who want to cut home energy consumption
To reduce expenses and to help protect the environment, in early 2021 our household started taking a number of measures to cut our energy consumption. Those measures have proven successful: total 2021 electricity consumption in our single-family, detached home in the US SE was about 8,000 kWh (3,200 of which was for HVAC), compared to about 11,000 kWh annual average in previous years. [UPDATE on 1/1/23: our total electricity consumption in 2022 dropped even further to just 5,500 kWh (1,600 of which was for HVAC) for the year. We have HALVED our electricity consumption. Huge savings. This thermal imager continues to operate beautifully. We lend it to friends & family so they can do their own diagnostics to save energy.] We first used our Klein Tools TI250 Rechargeable Thermal Imager to identify where our home’s protective envelop was weak – places where we were losing heat / allowing cold air inside in the winter and losing cool air / allowing heat inside in the summer. The imager revealed problem areas we had suspected, e.g., around windows and doors – areas where we needed to improve weatherstripping. But above all they highlighted an extremely acute problem we hadn’t focused on, namely the 7 recessed lights in our kitchen. In summer, and with those lights off, the thermal imager showed the lights as 7 ultra-bright, fiercely orange circles, though the ceiling all around (under thick insulation) was deep, cool blue. It was ugly, indicating that we had been wasting massive amounts of energy and money for years. We solved this problem (along with a similar problem associated with bathroom fans installed between ceiling and attic) by installing FF130E Recessed Light Covers: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002XVPUAO These were easy to put in, sealed with Great Stuff: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KSANBTY We continue to use the thermal imager from time to time around our house to make sure everything is OK, and we lend it to family and friends. On a sunny day, when pointing the camera toward the outside through a window, we got an interesting, rather spooky surprise. The naked eye revealed no reflection at all in the sun-filled window, but the thermal imager revealed our own images, clear as could be, standing there in that same window, waving at us when we waved at them. Here are some other products we purchased at Amazon that we can recommend to those interested in cutting home energy consumption: Aootek solar lights 120 LEDs with lights reflector, 270 degree Wide Angle, IP65 Waterproof, Security Lights for Front Door, Yard, Garage, Deck (4 pack): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07NQ4L1SB , as well as Solar Lights Outdoor,WWimy 210 LED 2500LM Motion Sensor Lights with Remote Control, 3 Heads Security LED Flood Lights, IP65 Waterproof, 270° Wide Angle Illumination Wall Lights with 3 Modes (2 Packs): www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08T9F2MM1 Purchased in August 2021, these lights continue to work well here in the SE, saving us over 150 kWh/year. AcuRite Wireless Indoor Outdoor Temperature and Humidity Sensor: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00T0K8NXC We got two of these to go with our AcuRite weather station. They allow us to monitor temperature and humidity in four places at once: outside, in our living room, in our crawlspace, and in our unfinished attic. Thanks to these readings, we have established a smarter, more energy-efficient way of ventilating our crawlspace.
