Kaleigh is a bright and bubbly 9 year old who was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes just over 4 years ago. Although the lifestyle adjustments were hard in the beginning, nothing including Diabetes could keep her down. Kaleigh loves to sing,dance,watch hockey and to do crafts. It was her love of crafts that made her decide that she wanted to do something to raise money to help find a cure for diabetes. Kaleigh made friendship flowers and pen pots, then stood in front of the 49th Parallel Grocery Store where she sold them and took donations with all proceeds going to the JDRF. Kaleigh has also earned an award for Leadership where she was awarded a cheque she then proceeded to donate the entire cheque to JDRF . Kaleighs determination to fund raise to find a cure for herself and others is truly an inspiration. She is very determined girl and has been recognized for her fundraising efforts by being chosen as the Telus Walk Ambassador as well as the Gala of Hope Ambassador.
