Updated 2026: BEST hair color brand! (Most effective product on dark blonde hair so far)
I've tried multiple products trying to get my hair to a dusty mauve color without having to bleach my hair to almost white. Although it's not perfect - it's kind of blotchy, so far this is the only product that has left any color in my hair. I plan on trying again with a darker shade since my hair is darker than recommended..My process:I will say do not follow the directions on the bottle.. the bottle says to wash it afterwards but that will wash the color out as well (I tried it on a test piece.) I did some research on this brand before trying it and combined a few technics I thought might work for mine.I started from a dark ash blonde with light ash brown roots (dyed right before applying Adore). I used a mix of 2:1 Adore 192 pink petal: Adore 193 soft lavender applied to towel dried hair using a dye brush applying in small sections for a more even coat. I covered with a plastic cap and left on for 1 hour (outside in the heat). I rinsed with cool water to lock in the color and applied a 2nd application of the same mixture combined with about 3Tbsp of conditioner. Lathered into my hair and covered it with 2 shower caps for extra heating effect. Left for another hour and rinsed again with cool water. I conditioned my hair again as normal and blow dried and straightened.I'm actually really surprised at the results (I half expected it to do nothing). There was still a lot of brassiness left in my hair from the previous products I tried that wouldn't tone out. Those are the main spots that didn't take the color but the darker roots took really well. The purple tones showed up better than the pink tones. I will definitely try again with more purple colors in darker shades. The only other thing I think I would change in my process is apply the first application to dry hair instead of damp hair to make sure it is evenly coated. Also leaving it on longer would probably help as well (the color was definitely more vibrant after the second application.)Update 2026: I just wanted to add since writing this review I've used many of the adore colors and absolutely love them. The darker colors work the best especially the purples. Also it's not nearly as complicated to use them as I did in my original post. After getting used to them I realized all you got to do is put the color directly into your hand (gloved) mix a little bit of conditioner and spread it through your damp hair while in the shower. Let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes.. longer if you want and rinse it out.. do not wash it after. You can wash and condition your hair before but if you wash it after it will remove some of the color. The colors fade after each wash. Your second wash will give you about a pastel color if you started with the deeper colors. Lighter colors will probably wash out within the second wash. By the 3rd and 4th wash most of the colors will be completely gone. The green tones stay longer so if you're having trouble getting those out use a red tone and it will neutralize it. After the red washes out your hair should be back to the original color. I changed my hair color constantly with these. My favorite is doing a rainbowy mermaid look. I absolutely love the teal color but it's one of the ones that leaves the Green in there so I usually go with red or a deep pink for my next color to get the green out. These work best in dark blonde and lighter hair colors. I tried on my kid's hair which is a light brown to medium brown and only the deep pink showed up but it was gone after the first wash. I also love that it doesn't damage your hair so almost every time I wash my hair in the shower I'm putting a different color in. Since I changed it up so much and I only use it on the ends of my hair one bottle of color lasted me half a year to a year.. purple's lasted less because I used those more. But as cheap as they are it's worth it!

Does NOT cover properly!!! VERY SPOTTY Results
ABSOLUTELY DID NOT deposit on my hair correctly at all. I am a 45 year Stylist and I just wanted to try this beautiful bubblegum pinkIt actually was very spotty and did not come out this beautiful pink.I am extremely disappointed!!!!And I don’t know what’s up with the product, but as it was being rinsed out, it created a hardened gel like affect to it almost as if it crystallized into hard plastic as it processed.I always use Paul riot on my extensions which are human hair and this color repelled and would not absorb into the hair on the extensions that should’ve been clue number one because it did the exact same thing to my own natural hair!! very very spotty and it was saturated extremely well

Doesn't work so well
I had high hopes. I got the light pink and it looks like a runny clear gel. Think really runny colored jello and that's what this looks like. Putting it on without dripping everywhere requires some much needed skill lol. But it fades out almost instantly with just one wash. So after the first try of just slapping it on the way it was, I poured both bottles into a bottle of conditioner. Now, before I was my hair, I put this on (I only color my bangs), leave it on for about an hour, and then I'll shampoo with cool water. That way I can rinse it the color and shampoo the rest of my hair at the same time. It's working for me but after I'm out, I'll try a different brand. I used to use Ion for years but the last 2 times I've tried to use it, it almost fried my hair off. Not sure what's going on with Ion suddenly stop now I'm on the search for a new brand that actually works

I love these dyes.
This time I got the petal pink dye, and if you want it to be a more bubblegum light pink, make sure your hair is platinum, or nearly there first. Tone it before dying as well- I used purple conditioner before dying it and it worked out beautifully. Light cooler pink bubblegum color. If you're okay with a more pinky peachy color from this product, get your hair to a pale yellow/gold. Easy to apply, doesn't do any damage, smells decent, and this particular color didn't leave stains on my skin at all, but I do know that the other more pigmented dyes will, first hand. And that's something nice about these dyes is that you can pretty much immediately see the exact color you're going to get in the final product when just applying it to your hair. They won't oxidize and change very much at all like other dyes, you can typically just see the true color on your hair right away, which is nice if you hate unexpected hair colors after rinsing a dye out. Keep in mind that the color/brassiness and lightness of your "before" hair color will change the final outcome. If you want bold color, lighten your hair to a pale yellow or platinum no matter what color you decide on. If you want darker, leave hair as is or only lighten a little, depending on your desired shade. Great price for two, as well. Pleased!

Wish it lasted longer
I did not use this on platinum blonde hair. Her hair did have some platinum highlights, it was a dirty blonde. Just had to say to start with. Color is very pretty but doesn’t last long which can be a good thing. She didn’t wash it right away after coloring and would only use cold water. The color is a gelish like consistency. It’s a pain to get it all out of the bottle. Doesn’t have a bad smell at all. If you are looking for a fun color that won’t last long I would say to get this. Or just recolor every few weeks, for the price it’s doable.

I absolutely love the way this color came outtt

Hay que dejarlo actuar mucho tiempo y el color es muy suave
Tiñe poco, después de aclarar el pelo, deja poco color, solo matiza las canas.
