Viva le Vive!
I've been trying out a range of different vegan protein/snack options lately and so got this variety pack to try out this brand for the first time. At a slightly discounted price, I paid £5 for 4 bars, which for vegan bars is pretty reasonable and competitively priced compared to other options I've seen. There were 4 different flavours: - Chocolate orange - Coconut cashew - Chocolate berry - Cherry bakewell Of the four, the cherry bakewell was my favourite as I've always liked this flavour and it's nice to find a vegan brand that has this variety! Overall I enjoyed all four flavours a lot and they have a good sweetness without being sickly, and they have a slightly crunchy but soft texture which went down well. Nutritional content and ingredient wise, the primary ingredient in all four is cashews, and they also contain almonds, dates, soy and pea proteins, all good plant-based ingredients, bonus that these are all natural and gluten-free, but obviously anyone with allergies to nuts or soy would need to look elsewhere. Luckily this isn't a problem for me and I'm a big fan of the ingredients, flavourings and protein choices here. Nutritionally, I like that there are added minerals and vitamins here, as advertised on the packaging. They average about 150 calories a bar which makes them a decent snack choice. Fat content at an average 8g is good, and as the majority of these fats will come from the cashews and almonds, they are healthy fats overall. Carb content is highest at 11g each which makes them good for an energy boost before a workout or during a mid-day slump! Protein and fibre content is around 5.5g average, which makes these less ideal for those looking for a high protein diet, but the fibre is a good for keeping you 'regular!' Sugar at around 8.6g a bar is fair, about what I'd expect from a snack bar like this, especially as it's more of a 'treat' snack. Salt content is low and standard for this kind of food. Overall, I really enjoyed these bars and would purchase again. Pros: - Good flavours - Nice variety in the 4 different types - Vegan, natural ingredients, especially if you like cashew and almond based foods - Gluten free - Pretty balanced nutritional content, good for energy boost, would work well for pre-cardio Cons: - Won't suit people with nut or soy allergies - Won't suit people needing high protein content

Too expensive for the size you get
Starting off with the good, the ingredients, or rather lack of them are great, and both the cherry bakewell and chocolate berry taste decent. However, I just can't justify £1.50 for a 35g brownie (4 pack) or even £1.20 (12 pack), especially when you can find them <£1 elsewhere.

Lumpy
Lovely flavours and nice and soft ish chewy however I don’t like the big chunks of nuts throughout the bars. I don’t have a problem with nuts but I would like the bars to be smooth all the ways through for a better texture.

Delicious Vegan Treats
They only criticism is they are not browny brownies, like, cakey, they are softer and less chewy, so it’s not what you expect when you open them, that being said they are really tastey, very tastey, good value I would say seeing as vegan stuff is expensive, I’ve bought other chocolate vegan treats on Amazon and they’ve been a let down, but I really enjoyed these and will re-buy

Great taste
Lovely bars. Fills you up. A healthy way to get the taste and not binge on too much sugar.

Delicious! But the packaging!
Quite utterly delightful little brownie style bars, packed with flavour and generously coated on all sides in a dark chocolate. Be even better if they were organic! People complaining about the size, it's a joke - 35g is around the average weight of a protein ball/bite/bar (ok, so loads are 60g too) - and at £1.25 it's fine. I often think people expect more quantity over quality. Lost a star due to the tough packaging: unlike the typical serrated 'tear anywhere' edges, they are straight. Had to resort to scissors to cut one open, not something I'd ideally carry to open a snack!
