Don't boil the water!!
This is very good tea. You HAVE to know how to brew Genmaicha Tea. You do NOT use boiling water. Get the water close to boiling and steep the bag for one minute MAX. Then you will have good tea. Boiling water will produce a burnt flavor and ruins the green leaves.

YamaYumYum
I bought three of the most popular on Amazon varieties of Genmai Cha tea to compare and see which is best.I bought:Kazu brand Genmai ChaYamamotoyama Genmai Cha (this review)SA Japanese Green tea Genmai ChaAfter brewing this tea for 3 minutes as per the directions I was very pleased at the taste. I could use more roasted rice per bag but I am a bit nitpicky about these teas. I like this tea very much but I would prefer a stronger roasted taste similar to the SA Japanese green tea which is very potent. however for the price it is definitely worth buying this if you like Genmai Cha teas.I've taken the price into account in this review (it is a fairly good deal)I have included a photo of a glass of tea that has steeped for 3 minutes

Tastes like the restaurant tea I loved
I'd never heard of brown rice tea until I tasted it at a restaurant. Once I found out what it was I went looking online. I tried a couple of brands, and this one tastes like the restaurant tea. The bags are big, so I can make a 16-oz cup of tea that still tastes strong. I've tried the decaf version of this brand, and it does taste a bit weaker, so I stick with the regular tea. I know someone who makes it into iced tea. I think an earlier review mentioned missing staples, but the strings are tied to the tags - no staples involved. My tea bags have always stayed intact, and the strings too. I can't say how the other brands taste. Once I found one I liked I stopped shopping around.

my favorite!
This is my favorite tea! I've bought other brands, including organic and loose leaf types, and honestly none of them really compare. It is lightly caffeinated, but not enough to leave me wired and jittery like coffee. Its perfectly warm and toasty, the roasted brown rice adds a sweet and nutty layer to the green tea flavor that really rounds it out. It doesn't need sweetening because of that, but if you do add some use honey, not sugar. It compliments the flavor well :) These are usually a little cheaper (only 50 cents-1dollar) at Asian dollar stores and supermarkets, but its hard to go to those to pick up little favorites now with the quarantine so I was really happy to find it online for a very comparable price.

Great Tea!
I purchased a very expensive version of this and there is no easy way to get the expensive version online unless I make a long travel flight. I figured I'd just read on my trusted Amazon to see what is out there. This smell great, taste great, and I learned that I did not need to over boil the water to make it taste better. Love this, very affordable, enough caffeine for me, and everyone else seems to like it. This is my alternative to coffee and my easy go to drink when I need a pick me up. Thank you Amazon!

Not much flavor
Part of the problem here was trying to find Genmai Cha on Amazon. When I searched for "genmai cha" this was the primary choice. Otherwise the options were anything but. THEN LATER I discovered the choices I wanted when I searched for BROWN RICE GREEN TEA. So this was the weakest choice along with the weakest flavor. I gave this away. There can't be any reason to keep something I wouldn't drink or any reason to think this was a good value.

Love this tea
I had brown rice and toasted barley teas in some better Japanese restaurants, and couldn't find it in shops near where I live. I found this one online, tried it, and loved it. I discovered that I also love it cold, as a cold drink, it is very flavorful. (I didn't drink it ice-cold, but room temperature). It is going to be a staple order for me. The price is reasonable too, and the vendor is prompt in handling the order and careful about the way it's packed. I just love it!

Excellent choice for me!
New purchase for me. I wanted a green tea flavor like what I drink at my favorite Japanese restaurant. I was told it is green tea with brown rice. When I went home I jumped on Amazon and selected this one. I LOVE it! I ordered one box initially to try it and have since bought 3 more so I can bring a box to work.

arrived opened and missing tea bags
Package came opened and with only seven tea bags inside. Definitely not the first person who has received this
