Monitor Soundbar SB521A, USB, Magnetic Mount

Great sound in a small package. The cable plugged directly into the Dell monitor and the sound bar attached magnetically. Not theater sound quality but it works well for online videos.

Basic sound, not good if your planning on playing music, it won't sound good, ok for audio Books and you tube etc

Recently swapped out a Dell monitor with an AC511 soundbar for a new monitor that wasn't compatible, so I ordered the SB521 instead. PROS: Magnetic mounting makes installation incredibly easy. The compact form factor keeps the setup looking clean. It's plug-and-play; I had no issues getting sound output. CONS: That small form factor comes with a tradeoff. The sound isn't very loud, and the audio quality is mediocre (it honestly does sound like a tin can/concert hall). At around $40 new, I don't think it's a good value—this feels more like a $25 soundbar, and that includes the Dell name tax. For my needs and maybe yours, it gets the job done: it outputs sound, and if I want better audio, I'll just use my headphones. Judged purely on its intended purpose, I'd give it a 4/5. However, compared to the older AC511, it falls short in sound quality and overall value. Because of that, my overall rating is 3/5.

Don't expect a concert hall sound from this inexpensive, tiny and easy to set up sound bar. If you want reasonably good sound, easy installation and a tiny foot print with the convenience of a magnetic snap on mount on your Dell monitor this sound bar can't be beat.

I have this on the side monitor so I can listen to pod casts and videos while working. It's out of the way and provides clear sound. no complaints.

Okay Dell Engineers: you really missed the mark on this one. Sound quality is TERRIBLE. I purchased this Dell SB521A Ultra Thin Soundbar -- along with a new Dell P3222QE 32-inch 4K Monitor -- as a replacement my aging Dell E2715H monitor with the awesome Dell AC511 USB soundbar. The AC511 soundbar has two upper tabs that snap into two slots on the bottom of *some* Dell Monitors...but the new Dell P3222QE 4K monitor was redesigned with two magnetic connectors on the lower edge for this new *TINY* soundbar to snap onto. When I pulled the Dell SB521A Ultra Thin Soundbar out of the box, I thought I'd been punked: the size is barely larger than a #2 pencil. The redesign would have been fine...but the sound quality is unacceptable. Listening to music is a "No thanks, I'll pass" experience on this new Dell SB521A Ultra Thin Soundbar. And as another reviewer mentioned: there is NO MICROPHONE (I knew this before purchasing), so it's not ideal for Teams/Zoom calls. Even if you have a separate microphone -- I use the fantastic FIFINE K052 Rigid Gooseneck USB Microphone and highly recommend it! -- the sound quality on the new Dell SB521A Ultra Thin Soundbar is unacceptable even for dialogue. I did some extensive testing with a patient coworker to switch back and forth between the Dell SB521A Ultra Thin Soundbar and my older Dell AC511 USB soundbar...the difference was not even close! The Dell SB521A Ultra Thin Soundbar sounded like an old tinny clock radio -- spoken dialogue was muffled and hard to hear -- but the Dell AC511 was crystal clear with much more volume/clarity. Dell needs to toss this worthless SKU and go back to the drawing board on the Dell SB521A Ultra Thin Soundbar with a redesign. Get the quality back to what you created so wonderfully in the Dell AC511 USB soundbar and I'll be a customer. For now, I'm sending this worthless tiny piece of plastic -- along with the new Dell P3222QE 4K monitor -- back to Amazon for a refund. Stay away!

Attached to a 27" 4K ultrasharp. Really poor audio quality, void of any redeeming features. Odds are high that you don't need this and won't benefit from it in a meaningful way. It's too bad, the SB series has not always been terrible, but I'm afraid the SB521A is just that - terrible. I do not reecommend at all, the "bar" will not outperform laptop speakers. My alarm clock has more presence.

Works great for lap tops.

The usb wire is too short, I had to buy an extension. Otherwise it is very good.

Small, practical, beautiful. Not a Hi-Fi device, but the best small good soundbar to a professional monitor I could find.

se ajusta bien al monitor pero la calidad del audio es muy mala, no es como esperaba que sonara

Great thing
