Great inexpensive doorbell kit
I’m selling my house and needed to put in a regular doorbell to replace my Ring so I could take the Ring with me. This was a great kit for the price. I didn’t need the transformer or the second button, but it was cheaper than others that were just the doorbell without even including a button. Install was a breeze if you know what you’re doing. I like that the button for the front door is illuminated. The bell is loud and clear. Not sure what else you could or would need from this kit. If you’re looking for a cheap replacement or for a new install of a regular doorbell I’d recommend this kit.

Good Kit; working with 3-party 16V-30VA transformer
I bought this kit because my last doorbell chime and transformer got fried. Fairly standard kit but at a good price. Chime works well with a 16V-30VA transformer (that I bought separately). Note: I CAN'T VERIFY THE QUALITY OF THE INCLUDED TRANSFORMER because I am using a different one that I bought separately. Everywhere I've read says that if you want to use a smart doorbell (and I plan to install one soon) then you will need to buy a 16V-30VA transformer (one included in this kit is 16V-10VA, and I knew that when I purchase). Don't expect the included transformer to power a smart doorbell.

Great and simple, but needs better directions
I had wanted to replace our very dated doorbell and the broken button outside. This set worked well. The older doorbell had an extra wire, and it took a little figuring out (thanks Google) to get this doorbell to work without knowing the current wiring 100 percent. But now that it's installed, I'm very happy. There are two bell options, but no button to switch between the two. It's really all in how you wire the doorbell. The two buttons were also great. The lighted one can be seen from the road. Overall, I'm happy. But the directions could have used a bit more detail. Thankfully, it's simple enough almost anyone can figure it out.

Easy to install as a replacement, even if you're a novice.
As someone that had never had to replace a doorbell in 16 years of home ownership, I felt the need to order this kit, which has EVERYTHING you may need to replace your malfunctioning doorbell. It was a bit of a shotgun approach, but it's better to over prepare than the alternative. On a positive note, whatever you don't use can be saved for spare parts should something break in the future. I had already tried replacing the button on a previous order (I ordered everything via Amazon instead of going into Home Depot or Lowe's out of concern for COVID-19). However, I noticed that the button instructions were nonexistent. (I would advise checking out YouTube on how to do that if you're not comfortable doing it without instructions, which is exactly what I did. It's very easy to do. So, no worries. ) As for the chime box, it looked different than what was documented in the instructions. However, if you take your time in finding what is where, you should have no problem setting this up. One extra bit of advice I have is if you are in a home where you're not the original owner (like me), watch for any paint marks on the wall end of the chime box. I would strongly advise running a razor blade along the edges of the unit that make contact with the wall to make sure you don't accidentally rip off any paint layers from your wall. I would gave given "easy to install" a 5 star rating had the instructions exactly reflected the product and showed how to replace the doorbell.

Great value if you need most of what's in the kit
My old doorbell, installed by previous homeowners, was a battery-powered unit using four "C" batteries. When it stopped working, I decided to replace it with one that wouldn't need me to replace the batteries. Installing the transformer will probably be the hardest part. And the most potentially dangerous. I spent some quality time in my cramped under-roof crawlspace installing the transformer. Fortunately there was a junction box I could splice into not far from the chime; just a little bit of wire re-routing and I had it wired up. I didn't use either of the included buttons, since they're made for installing on wood and my wiring requires the button be mounted on stucco. So I bought a nice, round lighted button from a local big-box retailer. Installing the button on the stucco turned out to be the hardest part of the whole process. The chime sounds great--it's much louder than the old model and I will never have to change the batteries again.

Workers great as my replacement

You get what you pay for.
Pros - cost, ease of installation Cons - the sound is pitiful…. It is a very abrasive grinding/“ding” sound….

Direct replacement for 20 year old Broan
This unit looks essentially identical to the 20 year old Broan unit it replaced, on the outside and the internal parts. The push button and the chime on the original unit were shot, resulting in the doorbell not chiming when the button was pressed , or chiming with short, choked notes when it did work. I tried just replacing the push button at first, which solved the intermittent chiming issue, but the chime sounds were still poor, so it appears that the chime mechanisms can wear out? Replacing the button and chimes resulted in a new sounding doorbell, with two nice loud tones for the front door. I was able to use existing holes for all mounting screws, so installation just required detaching/reattaching 2 wires at the button and 2 at the chime, which was easy and quick, only tool required was a screwdriver. I didn’t need to replace the transformer, but this unit was less expensive than buying a push button and a chime separately. I did not use the single tone option for a second door as my house isnt wired for one, but only requires one additional wire connection at the chime.
