To Green Angel Tower, Part 2 (Memory, Sorrow, and Thorn, Book 3)

Amazing
To Green Angel Tower part 2 is an emotional, thought provoking, and wonderfully satisfying ending to Tad Williams' Memory, Sorrow and Thorn series. And what a journey it was! The only way I was disappointed was that it did finally end. Leaving these characters and the world behind is tough but they're bound to be stuck with me for years to come. It is really the characters that made this series so great. The second part of To Green Angel Tower starts off strong and doesn't let up. From the beginning we know where everyone will go, but it's the wild ride that takes them there that is the heart of the book. Simon and Miriamele's journey is filled with exciting and unexpected events, but it's watching their relationship grow that was the really amazing thing to see, along with all the bumps on the road along the way. In the south the conflict is started and we finally get to see Camaris in action. I was worried too much time would be spent there but it's well paced and wrapped up just in time. There's also a few shocking and upsetting deaths among the bigger secondary characters, whose personal sacrifices affect the story in major ways beyond the emotional impact of the loss. But some of the best moments in this book happen while the main characters are on their own, suffering -- of which the characters face some of the toughest and most horrifying and emotional trials yet. One character finds themselves on a wheel, and though it turns in place, we're taken to places and shown things that subtilely inch our own understanding towards the truth of the central mysteries of the plot -- all of which are eventually revealed and tied up masterfully. Not to mention there's a massive plot twist that is discovered that turns everything around and everyone on their heads. The ending itself is truly great. The final confrontation is so strange and magical, yet wonderfully original, and has several surprising characters show their heroic side. Once all is said and done, there's a massive reveal that has to do with one of the characters that changes their life forever. This just further goes to show how thoroughly Tad Williams planned this series in advance. Nothing feels made up on the spot or thrown in along the way that wasn't hinted at from the beginning.I also thought the afterword was a nice touch. It was a great way to tie up one final loose end and show that life goes on for the characters even after the story is over.Even though this is the second part of the massive third book, I wish it was longer still.5/5 for this book and the series as a whole.P.S. I really hope there will be more stories set in Osten Ard someday with the remaining characters. It'd be shame to leave them behind forever.

Satisfying, Engrossing, Sad that the tale has ended!
I am sad because the series is over!!! I honestly, could have read about these characters for a longggg, long time. This series was fantastic, and I am very proud to have completed the 3000+ page series. As much as it pains me to say something bad about this series though, it did drag a bit in certain sections. Now don't get me wrong I feel that all the dragged out scenes were necessary to tell the entire story and have it remain coesive. It also helps you feel closer to certain characters. DO NOT MISTAKE ME I still give this book 5 stars. The parts where I was completely and utterly engrossed and filled with emotion FAR outway the dragging scenes.Finishing this series left me with another peculiar feeling that I feel the need to mention, the deaths in this book happen strangely. You are not really sure right away who remains. I was SO attached to these characters and yet I did not feel mournful for anyone in particular. I felt it was strange how that played out. I would like to elaborate, but I do not wish to cause spoilers. One other complaint I have about this book was that the climax happened so fast that I almost did not realize that it happened. :( It is believable, however, you can't help but have craved and yearned for more. More of everything especially vengeance. All in all, I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED THIS SERIES, I doubt that I will find something as fantastically brilliant for a long time. Give it a read, you will be glad that you did.Tad's fantasy is extremely literary and this series was a great escape. ENJOY!

Final portion of the best fantasy trilogy besides Lord of the Rings
I had the previous 3 books from Memorry Sorrow and Thorn. (Green Angel Tower is divided in two parts meaning two books). I wanted to complete the series and finally I bought this book, you can get now the complete Green Angel Tower in a single book (part 1 and 2 together) but I preferred to have them as originally edited in two books. This trilogy is high recommended for Tolkien fans as a good quality sci-fantasy material. The english and words are quite not common and as english is not my first language its been a challenge to go through but it is because the words are so well chosen to describe in a detail way each object or situation that once understood the word a more throughful picture is in your mind about what is going on. There are translations of the books but I prefer to read the originals. Even within the title at the begining I was not aware about Thorn means. The first book is the Dragon bond Chair so start reading! hope a movie trilogy can be developped soon.

Wow!!!
I am speechless. Tad Williams wraps up Memory Sorrow and THorn, leaving the reader with a feeling that they would like to know the further adventures of the characters they have grown to love for 3,000 pages. That's the only drawback when reading a lengthy novel with solid consistant character development, is you kind of wish the story went on some more. I burned myself out reading this one (it only took two and a half days) but it was worth it. The pieces are moved, and the adventuring continues and one by one everyone arrives at the site of the final struggle against evil...I dont want to give away anything, so I will say that on its own, if you havent read the series, go back and start with the first book, its a winner of a story through all of them, and it is worthless and would be pointless to start with this one, even with the sinopsis in the beginning to help you out, and if you have read the first two books and the first half of the third, keep on, man, you will not regret it.

très belle fin
Dernier volet de la trilogie (ou quadrilogie), avec l'évolution des personnages (ils grandissent, tout simplement, ce ne sont plus des ados !). On est tenus en haleine jusqu'au bout.
