Another Excellent Resource for Teachers, Parents and Curious Children
Science in Seconds for Kids: Over 100 Experiments You Can Do in Ten Minutes or Less is well written, clearly illustrated and easy to understand. It is split into sections, each devoted to a specific scientific subject area. The 108 experiments are simple and can be undertaken using easily obtainable items. Each experiment is explained simply and includes a simple explanation of the science involved. There is no attempt to provide in depth scientific knowledge, only a suggestion in the introduction, that the reader use a library or the internet to obtain additional information. There is also a suggested reading list at the end of the book. The experiments are intended to be undertaken independently to explore a particular topic. The book has an excellent index and also a glossary to assist in selecting suitable experiments. The product details on the Amazon posting show the reading age for the book as 8 to 12 years. However, the book itself does not give any guidance as to what age the experiments are suitable for. The experiments would be a useful tool for early years teachers to capture the imaginations of younger children and to begin exploring the scientific principles involved. Older children would be able, under supervision, to conduct the experiments themselves, using them as a starting point for further independent research.. N.B. The book is published in the USA and has American spellings and terms, that might be confusing for new readers.Overall; An Excellent Resource for Teachers, Parents and Curious Children

A perfect idea for the whole family to enjoy working on together
Science in Seconds for Kids contains more than 100 quick and easy experiments that let you explore science practically anywhere. This book provides step-by-step instructions and illustrations; each experiment includes a detailed list of the materials you need, most of which you already have in your home. The experiments are very easy to follow and there are a wide range of different themes in the book such as air, water, light, gravity and colours. My kids loved doing some of the experiments and it kept them focused and was a good source of learning. They were able to guess or predict what the outcome would be, once the experiment was completed. This is a great book, with lots of different experiments we could complete, without having to go out spending a fortune on ingredients/items required. A perfect idea for the whole family to enjoy working on together.

Finally, a science experiment book that really is practical for home use
A most timely book, considering so many of us are continuing to teach our children at home, this book is worth its weight in gold!As a parent, I hate it when it comes to this subject as it often means spending money on numerous products to end up doing just one messy science session.Yet, one flick through this book and you can see instantly that these activities only require a minimal number of items and really can be done in a quick time.I love how this is sectioned, so you can concentrate on certain topics. The text is so approachable for all ages, there’s a fantastic glossary section, and even a page for further reading should you wish to follow up on some of the topics.I applaud the writers for this valuable book, helping to make this lesson all that more approachable for parents and children alike.

Good stuff for science at home
This was obviously acquired during lockdown so allowed for some quick "science" experiments. Lots to choose from, some fun, some just a bit dull. My 3yr old was more exited than my 9yr old.

Handy resource.
I got this on trial as it looked like a quick and easy to get the kids's interest and thought it may help in my class too. Each experiment is on one page with a helpful diagram, materials needed listed, simple numbered steps to follow and the science of it all explained in a brief paragraph. The contents cover areas of air, living things, colours, energy, gravity, the human body, light, machines, magnetism, magnification, water, weather and a useful glossary plus index. They are (as described) short experiments with mostly quite minimal resources needed. The only difficulty I found was that (a bit unfairly really) I expected the resources needed/used to be more easily available around the house. Some of the items needed are unique to each experiment e.g. iron filings, duct tape, eye dropper, etc... A great ideas book to squeeze some (mostly) quick science in. Obviously, the whole class version would take a bit more than ten minutes but may help get a task done and written up as needed a bit more quickly. Great ideas book!
