BeON Home Protection System, Set of Three Bulbs

I have a problem with the design on the bulb. The bulb must be on the charge. However, turning the bulb on automatically programs it to come on. You have no control over this. So, the bulb comes on and drains the charge. If you are gone from the house long enough, the automatic programming will turn the bulb on and drain the battery. Then the doorbell rings, and nothing happens. It needs to trickle charge at all times, even when the light bulb is off. You should also be able to override the on/off programming. Returned because it did not meet my needs.

It does everything that it says it does, but there are two things that you should be aware of before deciding to buy: The app is very slow to connect to the bulbs, it uses bluetooth to connect so you have to be very near to one of the bulbs or it won't connect at all. You have to use it in a lamp that is open top and bottom so that the bulbs can dissipate heat, otherwise the lamp will automatically turn down it's illumination to cool the lamp. This eliminates most uses in ceiling lamps unless you don't mind the auto dimming after the lamp has been on awhile.

This is a very simple yet very effective preventative home security device, and cleverly, much more. I have an alarm and security films on my windows, which provides a comforting level security. But what this device does is discourage would be criminals from even bothering with your house, which may be the best security of all. My wife and I work a lot, so we are often not home, but you wouldn't know that from the pattern of lights switching on and off throughout the night. One of the most interesting features is how the bulbs can "hear" your doorbell, so if a would be criminal does approach your house and ring the bell to see if anyone is home, the lights go on in a pattern that suggests movement in the house. Very clever. Also, while you are home, when you turn the light off, say to go to bed, the bulbs offer a soft dim light for a few minutes while you find your way to where you are going, sort of like the lights in your car slowly dimming when you get in and close the door. Overall, a simple, clever device that melds seamlessly into your home security protocols.

I bought these thinking they were going to be pretty neat. The idea itself is neat, but they are hard to connect, the 3 bulbs have to be closer than I thought to one another. The main reason why I did not like these was one of the three got super hot. It was only on for a few minutes and it was very hot to the touch. I am going to send them back because I am afraid they will cause a fire. Good idea but maybe the next generation will work better.

I cannot say 'I Love It' because I find it a little tricky to work with. I have purchased 3 bulbs. 1 is in a back room and the other 2 are in the front room. They often go 'Offline' as I am working with the app. There is 'Help' to assist you with getting them back online, but it gets tiresome to have to do it so much. However, when it works, it works very well. I am looking forward to using the lights (from battery for this feature) to light the home up when I come home in the dark. Also the doorbell and security features seems to work well.It would be nice if BEON would allow you to edit your time schedule on line, rather than just from the App. Not sure if the technology would support such a feature.

Seemed like a good idea but it is supposed to work with an app. The app has been pulled. Therefore the product doesn’t work. The seller claims to have no knowledge that the app is not available and has graciously agreed to let me return it AT MY EXPENSE. No thanks. Do not buy from this seller.

This is a fantastic product! They are pricey, but they last so long that I feel the price is worth it. I wish there was a way to have these lights come on automatically when the electricity goes out but I may be asking too much. The packaging was sufficient, the explanations and directions were clear, and the bulbs and batteries worked right out of the box so they didn't need charged before testing them out.
