Thank you for your question. This drive includes no cables. Most laptops don't need any sort of cable if you are simply replacing an existing 2.5" SATA drive. You can purchase any type of USB-SATA cable adapter if you want to clone your old drive to the new SSD prior to installing.

If your mid 2012 MacBook pro does have a retina display, then this Crucial SSD will not work with your system as it will require a different form factor of SSD.
