Can the pitcher go on the stovetop directly?

I would not try it. I use it to steam milk for coffee. I believe that is what it was designed for. It is good metal so it could be.

Is the pitcher insulated?

It is not. Just metal, but works wonderfully.

Does the Tamp contain lead.??

No, California is just required to put a warning label on it, for "just in case". But we don't use any lead.

Does the pitcher show measurements?

Yes, inside. 6, 8, 10, & 12 oz. also in metric. Hope that helps. I like this product.
