Does the surface need to be flat? Our couch has some tufting/buttons so the surface has some dimples.

Flat helps but works on uneven surfaces as well like a pillow or jeans while wearing them not perfect like that but the best I’ve ever found! *****😊

Can you use this on clothing?

Yes it can wirk on clothes. I use mine on couch, pillows, comforter. It is amazing!!! Only thing that truly works on pet hair!!!

Will this work on wiry pet hair, and not just soft clumps like the ads show?

Yes, this pet hair remover works on wiry pet hair.
