So I purchased this strobe to replace an old "Disco Ball" we used for parties that would hang from our ceiling, and would point the light at it. This made birthday parties and New Years parties a little more fun. Those style of balls are not inexpensive. I was looking for a replacement that will get me through a few more years as my kids are getting older and came across this ANNT light. Here is what I like, it's quiet. You don't hear the electric motor like I did with the "disco ball". I like that it incorporates multiple colors. It is a different experience than the disco ball. It is small and compact, has two different options of a tripod or mounting bracket. I have not tried the mounting bracket, but think that I will ultimately mount the light in the ceiling with it and have it shine down towards the floor. I read other reviews that said the tripod is unstable. This is true if you do not extend the legs all the way out. The picture shown on the product sales page DOES NOT show the legs extended. I have included one in my review here. Although you do have to be mindful of how you position the light with the tripod, I was able to set it up and walk away. It never fell over. The strobe responds to distinct noises(clapping, heavy base). It flashes with every clap, or heavy base sound. Music has to be a little loud for the strobe to pick up on it, but hey, it's a party strobe, not a night light! The kids liked this for about 30 seconds, then it became old and they just wanted to dance around to the music and lights. My daughter kicked it up a notch and used it while playing Guitar Hero. Said it was her own little concert. Things that I think could be better, the cord is a little short. If you are permanently mounting it in the ceiling, you would put an outlet near the light and this would not be an issue. If you are using it on a table or in the middle of the floor pointing up(probably not recommended because you will trip over the cord, short or long) but you would definitely need an extension cord. The "crystal" cone, does come unscrewed if you happen to use it to move the strobe around, or grab it while it is spinning, but tightens right down and did not unscrew while we were using it outside of that condition.I played with the light over a week in addition to the party. The fixture didn't even get warm. It's made out of perforated metal to help cool the motor and bulb. It is easy to switch from tripod to mounting bracket. There is a pivot screw to secure the light at whatever angle you would like to point it. For the money, this is a pretty cool little light.

it is extremely delicate and even vibrations from walking around can disturb it (if not mounted). The first one I bought (albeit from a different seller) had the same results only that one had the plastic cover fall off without even touching it. Both models had same problems. After very little use, both (for different reasons) stopped working altogether. poor quality, I guess, if both products so easily fall apart. I have bought at least 10 different disco balls for my daycare/preschool (all on the cheaper side, none over $25 each) All of them would go out after a month or two of use, with no way to change the bulbs (or it would just refuse to spin - we do use it daily :)This model works better than expected. I hung from the ceiling in the middle of the room (we have an outlet in the ceiling) and it nicely "discos" the 12 x 16 room with no problem. If your area is bigger, I'd go for 2 or 3 and point them towards different corners of the room.

My son Loves this light! We purchased it for his 3rd birthday party because he loves to dance! We cranked up the music and turned off the lights and the kids had a blast! The light moves to the beat and is surprisingly bright for a party light at this price point. If your trying to light a club, don't kid yourself, if you want to add some fun to your next party grab a couple and turn it up.

They work but fall apart quickly because the screw holding the plastic prism cover (the one that causes the disbursement of light, falls off quickly. However the solution is to take a thread lock or glue and apply it before using this product - that is, unscrew the cover and apply glue (best is thread lock) to the threads/screw and tighten back on.For the price to do this gluing is no big deal, will be worth it.

This light toy is great for a small sized room. The light patterns are not very crisp when the light is thrown over 15 feet. The absolutely worst part about this device is the sound sensing light reaction. IT'S HORRIBLE! The microphone doesn't pick up enough sound and there is no "auto run" mode. Going to tear the little bugger apart and snip the microphone so it "just goes" without major flickering.

Surprisnlying bright and detailed. It doesn't have an AC adapter the powercord connects directly into the unit. The only I don't like is it doesn't have an on off switch.

Ok, So I bought 3 of these for a party. And something broke off from each one...no kidding. The leg stands for two of them broke off and couldn't be fixed.And the third one, well the small pin that holds the honey comb cap on the top.. fell out and was lost. And every time you make a loud noise...a cough, bump, or jump..the light flickers off.Buyer beware. .you get what you pay for.
