German precision

The cutting and finish are highly precise. Looks elegant despite the simple form. Even the container of the pieces is crafted and finished with apparent accuracy. Got compliments from friends. The form really let you know instantly how the pieces are supposed to move, except that I still have no idea which are supposed to be the queens and the Kings. Not big deal though. Only drawback is the price.

Chess is chess, but if you love symbiosis between form and function you'll love this set. The pieces are shaped according to their type of movement on the board.

Bauhaus Collectors Chess Set - Great Quality

I have been very pleased with the quality and precision of this chess set. This chess set was first designed in the 1920s at the Bauhaus school of design in Germany and its great to see that the Naef company has maintained precise tolerances on the shape, size and color of each and every piece.The pieces also come in a very elegant handmade slide box that holds the pieces perfectly. Its amazing that its still made by hand with such great quality, even today.A grate buy, and it will be a great set to pass onto generation after generation.
