Strong and safer. Simply the best alternative!
Simply the best trash bag to avoid traditional more toxic plastic bags. We decided on this 3 gallons bio bag after much research. So far this bag has not teared or decomposed with wet garbage on it or has been affected with weight unlike bio bags from other companies. A couple of things might have helped though: sticking with smaller bags and making sure to buy a recently made stock versus an old box that has been sitting long already decomposing. Although hard to tell, it would be best to buy as direct as possible or from a supplier that seems to sell them a lot. Having a smaller trash is of great help not only to make sure we use a smaller liner like this and avoid the risk of accumulating unbearable weight or longer periods of wetness that could affect the bag but also to avoid attracting pests with foul smells getting worst with time.Vinçotte is a certification body authorised by European Bioplastics. It is good to know that the bags have been tested on ecotoxicity (test if the composted product does not exert any negative effect on plants) and on heavy metals content. Every product certified by the BPI will compost completely and safely.

Works great for heavy kitty litter.
These are great! I read that they weren't strong in the reviews, but they are! I have two cats and I use it daily for their litter clumps. When I'm gone for a weekend, it adds up... And the bag still holds strong being heavy and almost completely full! I take them immediately to the garbage or put them outside so they don't get a chance to stink. So I'm not sure if they would leave an odor, I never give it a chance to lol. I love these! And I feel like I'm finding a simple way to help not to keep using plastic bags that never ever break down. I'm glad I found these!

Quality control failed
I’ve been using the 13 gallon bagels for 2 1/2 years and happily using the 3 gallon bags since April 2018 when I ordered 4 boxes of 100 bags. They lasted beautifully for over a year. This past March I ordered two more. The first was fine. But then I opened this one that has zero perforations and is impossible to tear for each bag. I ruined several trying to find the right place to cut with scissors. I still have over 1/2 a box of 100 left and just hate having to take out a new one. But I don’t want to waste them and am concerned if I order more they also won’t be perforated. They’re great bags for compost - durable and strong. But this supply was a complete bust.

Waste of money. Not reliable.
Never buying this brand again. I have been using various compostable bags for years and these Unni ones are the worse. I don't know if I have a defective batch. But they are so delicate, the bags often fall apart, sometimes right out of the box. I have to use 2 or 3 bags at once to keep trash from falling out of the holes which pop open so easily. I have had the bottom of the bag bust open a few times so I dont even trust carrying a full bag now. I have to take my whole trash can to my compost bin outside and dump it.

Good Intention but need to improve
I appreciate that this company focuses on producing environmentally-friendly products. I'm a big supporter of this intention and thus I also really hope this product can be better. One thing that frustrates me is this 3-gallon bag is exactly 3 gallons, which makes it impossible to stay fixed in a 3-gallon trash bin. I really think the bag should either be slightly larger or have some intentional design to help the edges stay fixed.Another thing is, it is indeed fragile sometimes. I had to use 2 layers and it's not easy to tie the mouth either. I understand that this biodegradable material may have to be a little more fragile, but the mouth should really be better designed. All that said, I will continue to buy bio-degradable products and I hope a lot of you can join this journey together. I will be so happy if they can also be designed better.

Thick and durable as advertised, but moisture passes through.
These bags are thick enough to resist tearing and punctures, better than the standard plastic grocery bags and those trash bags that come in rolls. I feel a lot better knowing that these bags are biodegradable. If my municipality doesn't have an industrial composting facility, the bags have to break down over time, and even if that time is a hundred years, it's better than plastic, which will be plaguing us forever. The only drawback I've found is that the bags are semi-permeable to moisture -- they "sweat". With organic kitchen waste, my trash can gets wet and odorous, and I have to clean it out when I change bags. This would be less of a problem if you change them out every day or two. Since I only change them twice a week, my solution was to line the trash can with a traditional plastic bag, then put these inside. With this arrangement, I can throw the trash out in the biodegradable bags and keep my trash can clean. When the plastic gets too dirty from the moisture, I replace the plastic liner, either folding up the dirty one to recycle, or using it for non-biodegradable trash.

These compostable bags are the perfect size for my compost bin and are very effective
These compostable bags are the perfect size for my compost bin and are very effective. I learned after the first week that they will begin to biodegrade quickly if overly wet food scraps are placed in the bag (I accidentally left the bag in the compost bin for 2 weeks when I first received them), so now I take the bag out every week and have not had the issue since. These are definitely the best deal for the quality and the amount of bags you receive.

Work well
These are great! Because of reviews and price, they're the only bags we've tried.Like all compostable bags, they start to decompose fairly rapidly, so we find it's best to change them every 3 - 4 days, even if they are not full. This works well for us, since the typical shelf life of a 100 bag box is 1 year, and that means we use them up promptly.

BAGS ALWAYS RIP
These last 2 boxes...more bags than usual have torn. I'm very careful when I tear them off the roll and when I handle them in general. I've lost about 50% and have had to clean up several messes. And no I don't overfill them. I usually only keep them half full because of their delicate matter. Waste of money.

Fits 4L Ice-cream pail
We compost into a 4L pail. This bag gives us ample room to fill the pail and comfortably tie it. We've been using them for 6+months and haven't had one break. And it keeps our large outdoor compost bin from "residue" build up in the bottom, especially in winter when it freezes solid to the bin. We were ready to quit composting until we tried these. They're not scented which is good... there's enough drama in the odor department when composting.

Great price for good quality
Use these instead of expensive ones in store, they are great for the price. Can't fill them to top because it will break if to heavy, but they pretty much all do that. We love them and they keep odors in

Great quality
I bought these bags a few months ago, so far not much complaints, performed well for the purpose, but looks like they increased the price a lot.

Good quality and what I wanted
Compost bags - good quality and just what I wanted. I just wish they were not quite so expensive. But I’ll continue to buy.
