Conversation Starter Game for 5-8 Year Old Kids - CareMail Mailbox

i love this and got it for my nephew -- we call it the mailbox game. the directions are easy, but you can also easily customize it to your liking or however you think the game would work best for your situation. it's just me and my nephew playing and he's 5 yrs old. when i spend time with him, i bring the mailbox filled with 3 new cards / questions, each in its own envelope. 1. con - the game comes with limited envelopes and while they are lick-able, they're not reusable once they are licked shut. he takes each card out of the envelope (which i've addressed to him, like real mail) and we sound out the words together to figure out the question. he's artistic with a short attention span and after he answers, i have him draw his answer. it extends the fun with that one question and gives us time to talk about it as he draws. he has a lot of fun with it and i get a peek into his active imagination! it comes with a small mailbox, as described, and also mini cards and envelopes. the cards are laminated and great quality! the set i got came with question cards for ages 5-8 (Q1). on the company's website [...] you can order additional cards, but make sure you're not ordering the same cards your set came with. they have communication cards for ages 5-8 (C1), which is the set i didn't have so i ordered that from their site. they have other cool stuff at their site besides additional cards. i did correspond with customer service (the company, not amazon customer service) and they are so incredibly nice! they will go out of their way to help you out as best as they can. 5 stars all the way around. i'm signed up for their newsletter for when new products come out, and with that i got access to print a free pdf interactive journal for kids... something else that's awesome i can use with my nephew!

This is an excellent game for kids learning social skills. I work in ABA and used it with some of my learners and they caught on quick! They loved the little mailbox it came in too!

I have been a nationally certified school psychologist for 27 years and a licensed clinical professional counselor for over 10 years. This product is truly amazing for parents, counselors, teachers, grandparents, social workers, guidance counselors, ministers- just about any person who is in a field where they are dealing with helping others. This product provides the opportunity to be really able to listen to children and to really hear what they are saying. It provides an opportunity for children to learn how to express their true feelings without judgment in both a verbal modality and in the written expression. This is a great way for both parents and children to deal with their feelings in order to grow and develop to an incredible level.

It's rare that a really great tool comes along that not only increases communication and conversation (something increasingly diminished in our attention deficit world built on 140 character twitter and text messages), but also creates a unique environment for building self-esteem in kids of all ages. Well, that's what we have with the CareMail mailbox.I have used this product with all age groups and it has unquestionably brought about great conversation. The questions were extremely well thought out and most definitely age appropriate. I would highly recommend this product to every parent who has a genuine desire to build a strong foundation of confidence and self-esteem in their children while creating a strong healthy relationship at the same time.
