Milk Thistle for Dogs 120 Tablets - Liver, Kidney & Detox Support

This review is for Milk Thistle for Dogs - 120 Chewable Tablets - Liver and Kidney Support for Dogs - Hepatic Support with EPA & DHA - Detox for Dogs - Liver Supplement for Dogs with Choline and L-Arginine (Tablets). I started using this with SAMe from Coco and Luna to replace the Denamarin shortage a few years ago and have never gone back. My dog takes the Milk Thistle and SAMe willingly unlike Denamarin where I practically had to force it down his throat and he would try to spit it out every time (even when I wrapped it in Greenies pill pockets)! It was so stressful trying to give him Denamarin every day until I had to (thankfully) find alternatives to it. It turned out to be the best thing that happened to us. We’re both so happy with the switch. I have to give my boy 3 pills daily in combination with 3 SAMe according to his weight. He likes these and swallows them like treats every day! OMG! Had I only known about these earlier! My boy is almost 13 years old now and he’s as healthy as ever thanks to this and SAMe from Coco and Luna. The bottle always arrives nicely sealed inside and out for safety with the lot and expiration date clearly stated on the bottle (about 2 years from today). Overall, a wonderful life saver. We have both the Milk Thistle and SAMe on subscription and we’re very pleased with them. We only want Made in the USA products for our boy. We’ll give this product a 5.0/5.0 -09/11/2023.

I have been using these with my 15 year old dogs. They love the flavor and eat it out of my hand like it is a treat. It has certainly been an asset to their excellent health.

I bought the Milk Thistle for Dogs (120 Chewable Tablets with Silymarin) to provide essential liver and kidney support for our dog, particularly while they were undergoing a course of prednisone. Liver support is often recommended when dogs are on steroids, and we wanted to be proactive about protecting their health. The chewable tablets are a huge plus—our dog takes them easily mixed with their food, which is a major win for administering daily supplements. They seem palatable and haven't caused any digestive upset. During the treatment period, we didn't see any noticeable difference in our dog's general energy or behavior, but that's exactly what we wanted! Since Milk Thistle is a protective and supportive supplement, our goal wasn't to see a change, but to prevent problems. We assume it did what it was supposed to by offering protective support to the liver and kidneys, helping to mitigate the stress of the prednisone medication. It offered excellent peace of mind knowing we were doing everything we could to support our dog's internal organs during a tough period of medication. I highly recommend this supplement for pet owners looking for reliable Silymarin support for their dog's liver and kidney health.

Brought my dog into the vet for a routine dental cleaning and bloodwork. Unfortunately, when the bloodwork results came back her liver enzyme levels were four times what they should be. My vet recommended trying a liver supplement, putting her on Denamarin (which is essentially a vet backed/prescribed liver supplement), and/or taking her to a specialist to get an ultrasound of her liver and kidneys done. I called the specialist to get a quote for how much the ultrasound would be and was unable to afford it, so I looked for the next best thing. I researched the ingredients and differences between Denamarin and over the counter liver supplements to try for her and found these Coco and Luna chewable tabs. The Coco and Luna supplements (S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine + Milk Thistle) are much more affordable for me than Denamarin and work just as well. My baby girl is not super picky when it comes to treats and so she takes these with ease, but loves them! She actually starts drooling haha when I am opening up the jars to pour them out for her, she loves their taste so much! I took my girl back into the vet today to recheck her bloodwork and the vet says her liver values have gone down substantially and are back within normal ranges. (As I type this, I have only been giving her these supplements for a month and a half). NOTE: My girl is 75lbs and I give her two tabs of the S-Adenosyl-L-Methionine and two tabs of the Milk Thistle once a day in the mornings = total 4 tablets per day) and they have helped her tremendously. Based on the dosages I have been giving her, these two bottles will last me two months. Thank you again! I can't say enough how appreciative I am for companies like Coco and Luna for manufacturing affordable pet care products.

I have been giving my 11 year old diabetic dog these for over a year since she was first diagnosed. I never knew for sure if they were doing much until last week when I ran out because I thought I had another bottle. She gets one pill in her breakfast and one in her dinner every day. She missed her morning and her evening pill and we happened to have her on a freestyle Libre which we do occasionally to be sure her numbers are still good. Her glucose is usually in the low 100’s for much of the time between meals once it comes down after eating and goes back up to around 275 shortly before mealtime. On the day she missed her pill she came down to 250 and never got below that until she topped out over 350 at dinner time. She then repeated that over night. Amazon delivered her pills at 10pm that same night and she got her pill in her breakfast and her numbers went right back to normal. I can’t imagine this was a coincidence and will be sure to never run out again.

My 3 senior havanese don’t like these. They spit them out of the pill pockets even broken in fourths. I had to crush them to a powder and disguise it in canned food. I’m switching to a liquid.

Our very says that we are doing something right since our dogs liver counts have stayed just about the same for the past 3 years since we have been using this milk thistle. We have this in subscribe and save and it's Always been in stock. No problems ever.

Item received powdery and the tablets changed color.
