The Best!
As a gift I received the little Sonicake volume pedal that I returned because I never used it do to the size but made me want to get a bigger one to control my loop pedals backing tracks, some are recorded louder than others and this is perfect!

Over a Year Later, EB VP JR Gets an A+ for Guitar, Pedal Steel-- What to Do if the String Breaks
"Rock on! Have you seen Junior's grades?" - David Lee RothI grew up using a Morley Volume pedal back in the '70s when I was learning playing Jeff Beck, Alex Lifeson, Allan Holdsworth and several other volume pedal players. Then, as pedals come and go over a guitarist's lifetime, I had to repurchase my pedals several times. I recently picked up playing Pedal Steel Guitar too and volume pedals are essential. The Ernie Ball VP JR gets an A+ in my book after over a year later it is still a solid and reliable volume pedal at a reasonable price. I would absolutely purchase again if needed (only offers a 6 month limited warranty). However, the only thing that is likely to malfunction, or wear out, is the sting inside the volume pedal and you can replace that part for a nominal cost and you don't need to be a guitar tech to fix it yourself. There are simple instructions on the web and YouTube that only require a screwdriver and some patience.A small design flaw, which is a minor critique on my end, is that the position of the taper switch located behind the input jack under the footplate . The micro taper switch gives the guitar or pedal steel player two distinct volume swell rates.I am happy with the performance, durability and sound of this volume pedal and I am giving it an A+No battery required.

Best Volume Pedal
Solid. It seems like it’ll last forever. Very smooth, consistent movement. Nice sweep, easy to control. Iconic look. This is probably the best known, most used volume pedal. I got a Y splitter cable, so now I can also use it as an expression pedal.

Nice sturdy well made pedal
It needed a bit of adjustment and you still have to compromise between not turning off al the way and not turning on all the way ie still some resistance at fully depressed.

What I needed!!
I’m a guitarist in my church & wanted a good well built pedal to help me express the guitar. Great value, well built & sturdy, also performed very well even on the 1st trip out!

Got a lemon, but warranty came through
Update: So I sent my pedal to EB, got a call a week later from a tech saying he'd fixed it and is sending it back, showed up at my door a few days later, and it's been working perfectly ever since. They may let a lemon out every now and then but they have the customer service to make up for it. In the future I'll probably buy a second one to convert into a expression pedal.Great volume pedal for a while, just have to run a buffered pedal in front of it or lose a lot of tone (which is true of any passive volume pedal). I do manual swells with my dd-500 for slower songs at church and ran it for about a month without issue. This past week I started to notice some unevenness in the pedal travel but didn't think much of it, as it still sounded fine. Come Sunday morning, it starts squeaking whenever moved after sitting in one position for long, say the length of a song. It's a small church, and it's quite audible to the audience between songs. I believe the screw holes for one of the brackets from the top of the pedal were drilled too far out, so the bracket is now bent inward, making the rubber washers squeak. And of course I'm outside the return window, which means a factory warranty. Time to test EB customer service, I've heard it's good. Just frustrating to have to pay to ship it to california a month after buying it.

Good Quality
Great volume pedal, well built, solid aluminum frame, easy to change pot, price was excellent. I have been using volume pedals on my steel guitar for 40 years, this one is nice, with a low profile that doesn't raise your foot too far.
