They were super comfortable and fit perfectly. The closed toe made them great for shore excursions like hiking. They held up really well in the water. My feet did not feel tired after the hike due to the lightweight nature of them. Only complaint was when walking the river/waterfalls, rocks and sand would get in the shoe and was hard to get out without taking the entire shoe off. Review: Comfy, attractive, built tough. - As I write this I am in Spain averaging beyond 15K steps per day. I just bought these a few weeks ago. I am a Keen fan. These can be worn with or without socks. They provide remarkable stability. People have commented on their looks. Sizing was “right on” per the purchasing guide. If past experiences with Keen play out these will go from almost daily use to crappy yard work use to the trash or re-purposing. Don’t worry about the price they’ll repay you and then some.

Excellent for light hiking
Great support, grip and comfort. I am very happy with these sandals. Previously used hiking boots for light hiking.... these are lighter and provide similar support and traction.

These will do.
These are pretty decent shoes at a reasonable price. I am kind of hard to fit. Probably I need something like a 16.5 narrow, which I have never found. 16s tend to be just a hair too short, but also almost always too wide, and there aren’t that many choices. These Keens, when cinched up as tight as they go, work for me. And that’s good, since I like to wear sandals at least part of almost every day. These have a pretty stiff sole, which I personally like. They’re pretty stable and have pretty good traction which I also like. They don’t have a lot of padding between my foot and the stiff sole, and that could be better. I’m probably going to experiment with some insoles or something (which might also help with the need to pull the as tight as I can.) But even though the hard soles hurt my feet a bit, they do not aggravate my plantar fasciitis, my Achilles tendinitis, or my Morton’s neuroma, so that is a resounding success. They say they’re waterproof. I’m not sure I believe that, and probably won’t intentionally test it. The way they are shaped I don’t think the water would naturally drain out, and the leather seems unlikely to do well with sustained immersion. Actually, in large part because I am satisfied with the fit of these, I am considering getting some Keen Newport 2 water sandals for use in the water. (It looks like those are softer too, which might help my comfort, though perhaps it would make them less durable as hikers than the Arroyos.) I’ve had these a month or two and, as I said, worn them part of every day, and sometimes all day. I’ve walked a few miles in them on pavement a few times, as well as on wet wood, and they are doing great. They are wearing fine so far, with just some slight wear showing on the bottoms. Probably also relevant - since getting these I have started to follow the Keens Facebook page, so I guess that makes me an official convert. Update: I did try adding insoles - the work great and make for a more comfortable feel. I also bought some Newport 2s. These should be decent water shoes, but I find the stiff heel on the Arroyos and their general good stability far better for walking, especially in rougher terrain. And the stiffer soles will likely hold up better on rocks and even pavement. I almost upgraded these to 5 stars. Maybe I should, but I did have to add insoles to get to that level of satisfaction.

... on the camino de santiago and they were absolutely perfect for me
I wore these on the camino de santiago and they were absolutely perfect for me. I didn't want to wear a closed hiking boot because I know the heat & sweat would have caused me blisters. We walked about 500 miles over about a month and they kept my feet pain free for the entire journey. I didn't get a single blister :) They kept my feet cool (or much cooler than a closed boot would). They seemed to be able to handle light rain without getting wet inside which was great. We walked one day in heavy constant rain and they did get pretty wet inside as you would expect. I have to say that even when they were wet they were still pretty comfortable. I stuffed them with newspaper in the evening and left them beside a radiator and by the next morning they were perfectly dry. SIZE As other reviewers have said the fit on these shoes are slightly large. I bought a half size smaller than usual and they were perfect. A couple of minor problems: The quick release lace button on the right shoe was a bit loose so I had to tie a loose knot in the lace to stop it from loosening. No big deal for me really but it could probably be better, the left shoe didn't have the same problem. Stones sometimes got inside the shoe, but this is a sandal with gaps in the side so really that is to be expected. Because the gaps are quite high in the sandle it wasn't very regular that a large stone would get in and only took half a minute to remove it. Again not a big problem for me but worth noting. To finish on positive note, after 500 miles the removable footbed was showing signs of wear, I contacted Keen to ask if they sold the footbed seperately so that I could replace it and they have offered to send me a replacement footbed free of charge :) I have given the shoe 5 stars, despite the one or 2 small things I mentioned, thats because I found them incredibly comfortable and I don't think i could have been happier with any other shoe for walking the camino. I'd defintely buy another pair once these are worn out, which by the look of it coudl be quite a while, they still look practically new.

Great All-Around Hiking Sandal
I've been buying Keen shoes for many years and love how they stand up to a lot of wear and tear. These are very sturdy, comfortable and well constructed all-purpose sandals. I originally bought the Keen Targhee 3 sandals, but I found them to be too flimsy and non-supportive, so I exchanged them for these Arroyo 2 shoes, which I personally like much better. They also are very good looking (I got the steel gray/midnight navy model), and should serve me well in my upcoming trip to Spain.

I've worn them for years
I've worn Keen sandals for years, and they never seem to wear out. The fit is accurate and they look and feel great.

Heel slips but front tight.
Update: It's not the size, it's the design. Heels are loose and this cannot be remedied. The soles are the same size as my old Keen sandals. I carefully measured and compared these. The fit is true in the front, but the heels slip in the back. My stick-on heel pads didn't stay on one day. I had to use 4 on each heel and it was uncomfortable, anyway. If I had went down a size, the sandals would have been too small. They cut into my feet as it is, unlike the older style Keens. The whole sandal is uncomfortable. I'm just going to have to live with sandals that slip and cause irritation, front and back if I walk about a mile or more. Based in Oregon, an insane "progressive" enclave. On the positive side, these look good and have a good sole, if I don't fall out of these or twist an ankle. I loike the idea of a waterproof sandal with a hiking boot sole Wanted and needed this shoe but should have returned for a size that fit better. Many issues with online apparel shopping! I have the classic Keen water sandal in 11.5 but I guess I needed 11s in these. Typically, I wear 12s in all footware types. The heel slips too much and you can't really tighten the shoe. There's little heel tightening possible, because of the design. I cut off toe circulation trying to cinch up the heel. It comes loose around the heel after a few steps but the front keeps tighter. The little plastic string holder is too puny for the design, especially for the heel issue. Of course, if I had a smaller size, maybe there wouldn't be a heel problem, but the the rest of the fit is perfect. Since I wore these on a short hike, I kept them. I made some changes to the sandals which has helped a lot with the fit. I put in heavy duty $30 inner sole inserts, size 12; which fit without alteration. I also bought an 8 pack of stick-on heel pads and needed all 8 for the optimum effect. The heel pads made the main difference. For whatever reason, wearing Crocs with socks (even with the Keen sandal sole insert installed in the Croc), the Crocs are cooler than both of my pairs of Keen sandals. Maybe it's the sock wicking combined with the generous lower Croc vents. However, I'm not going to hike in Crocs, or even wear them in public.

Fantastic sandals!
Fantastic sandal. My husband has another pair and he loves them so much I ordered another pair in a different colour. He has very sensitive feet due to arthritis and these give him plenty of room and are so comfortable. Good quality as well. Thank you Amazon for your prompt service. Cheers Kim
