BLACK STAR Rust Converter - Converts Rust on Any Steel Surface – 3 Aerosol Spray Cans

I bought an old Jugs dual-wheel pitching machine and it had some rust since it was old. I basically sprayed this on the wheels and other areas and left over night. In 24 hours, all rust was gone and the areas with rust had turned to matte black. It requires no sanding, no scraping and really very minimal cleaning before use. I’ve since used it on my rusty metal screen door and a few other places. It’s a solid addition to your tool chest; buy it!

Black Star makes an excellent product, and it's remarkably effective at turning rust into a hard, black, enamel-like surface. I've found the liquid to be more effective, as I use a paint brush to apply a much thicker coat. Yet, the aerosol spray can is fabulous for applying Black Star to those hard-to-reach areas. A few suggestions for Black Star, which is what kept them from getting a full five-star rating: 1) The chemical is very thick, and I was unable to spray the liquid with a standard over-the-counter spray bottle. I thought the aerosol would solve this problem, and the chemical in the aerosol appears to be much thinner than the liquid, but even so, the nozzle kept clogging up. 2) The liquid is expensive, and is only sold in one-gallon cans. Why in the world are you unwilling to sell it in quarts? Some of us prefer the liquid over the aerosol, but don't need to purchase an entire gallon. 3) Your product is AMAZING!! In a perfect world, I would be able to buy a gallon of Black Star along with a hand-pump spay-bottle that was engineered to deliver a liquid of thicker consistency. Any chance of this happening? Thanks again -- Black Star has let me salvage many rusted items that would have had to be discarded otherwise. :) :) :)

I cannot say enough about this product. Used it on my vehicle rust spots which alleviated the nasty brown rust look. Made the vehicle not look like a rust bucket until proper repairs could be done.

Love this stuff! Stops the rust and makes great base for painting! Make sure you sand wire brush first do Black Star can penetrate for best results!

temporary fix covered up rust for a short period. Have two thirds of a spray can remaining due to the spray nozzle clogged and will no longer spray.

Made it real easy to paint over a rusty outdoor gas heater.
