Perfect PatchworkTemplate, Small, Set a-3" Basic Square Set 7/Pkg

I am a newbie at quilting. Marti Michell's templates really help my accuracy. I have her Log Cabin ruler as well as sets A and B. I made a practice block with the 8 point star and it turned out so beautiful. So much easier then cutting with paper templates.

I have just received this set and the Dresden plate set of templates. In comparing them to other template brands I already have, they seem thicker, sturdier. I am impressed with the booklet of instructions that came with the templates as well. These templates will be useful in making smaller patterns than the AccuQuilt dies that I have for larger stars. I find templates easier to use than rulers (my inexperience likely shows here.) If I find I need specific shapes not available in AccuQuilt Dies, I will next search for them in this line of templates. I think I should also look at Marti Michell’s larger books for further information on using these templates to best advantage.

I got it in a short time, and it was just as described. I love it and have made several quilt blocks with it already. I even ordered Set E and it also arrived the earliest day listed, and was in perfect shape. I have combined them for a block. I have Baycreek templates to, but I like the grain line and guide holes on set E. They also have the corners cut better than Baycreek templates, although Baycreek is a little cheaper and sometimes has more pieces in their sets. Baycreek also has templates for blocks that Marti Mitchel doesn't have available so far. I intend to get the Set L and Set M so I have the basic templates for 5 patch and 7 patch blocks. I keep them organized in a 3 ring CD book that I can add vinyl page protectors to to hold the patterns and the biggest templates I have. The CD book zips so I don't have to worry about them falling out and getting lost.

Marti Michell templates are easy to use because they are so well thought out. I got this set so I now have A,B,C &D sets. They go with Vol. 1 & 2 of her perfect patchwork system books.

I have bought all of the templates in the Marti Michell sets and they are great for interchangeability. The 1 inch pieces mate between sets, the 2 inch pieces mate, and the 3 inch pieces mate. So, if you buy all of the sets, you can create many other patterns than each individual set can make. And since they are all perfectly symmetrical, you can mass cut many pieces and you don't have to worry about orientation.These are very sturdy. A rotary cutter won't even nick them. They have a roughed up back so that they don't slip on the cloth or paper or whatever else you are cutting.

The first time I tried to use these I was so confused but then I studied it for a while and love them. My blocks go together great. I have not ripped out a block yet...of course, I've only done a few. My flying geese look great....never did before. I've only been quilting for a couple of years and have never tried a 6 inch block because of the small piece but these work wonders. I have recommended them to my friends. They can be adapted to many patterns and Marti Michell has videos you can watch to learn how to use them. I also bought sets but haven't used them yet.

No quilter should be without some Marti Michell templates. They are of excellent quality and well thought out. This set is no exception. If you think they might be expensive then consider your time and the price of your material and thread. These templates will guide you through your quilt block pattern and let you make the most out of your yardage. They eliminate a lot of frustration too. You can usually find a you tube tutorial to help too.

Couldn't have finished the project without them.
