This book was FUN. I've been heavy and I've been unhealthily thin
This book was FUN. I've been heavy and I've been unhealthily thin, but have managed to find a comfortable, healthy life in the middle. Most importantly, I feel comfortable in my skin. A lot of women have not found that, though, and between hilarious outtakes from her life, Brittany Gibbons tells how she found a life in which she's happy just "being". Not the grand quest to change, or the promise of being happier "just if", but loving yourself and your life right now. It's a powerful story. And hilarious. I'm glad I read this book.

Kept my attention
This was a v.ery relatable book for this plus sized woman. I guess I should have grasped the idea that she listed sex first in the title because it was that important to her. A bit too raunchy, detailed, and crass for my taste. Her description of being "curvy" was extremely relatable and I would recommend it for anyone who grew up in the 80s or 90s.

Fantastic!
Infinitely relatable and incredibly entertaining. I wasn't sure how much this book would apply to me as I am smack dab in the middle of the size range, a few sizes from plus but also several from small. Ms. Gibbons makes excellent points about body acceptance while refusing to cut down anyone of any body type. I downloaded this book based upon a review written by a man and I completely understand now why he enjoyed it so much. This is a book for everyone: small, big, male, female, and anywhere in between.

Love it
I love Brittany’s writing style. She’s witty, funny, smart, relatable, and it’s reasuring and some how validating when someone else’s life so closely mirrors your own and the humor you heard in your head comes out on her pages. Definitely a must read for the plus sized. It was finished way too soon, inspired binge-reading and then I had to go buy her first book!

Fat or Skinny, you're going to love this book!
What can I say. From one fat girl to another.... I LOVE Brittany Gibbons. We have similar personalities. I absolutely love the way she looks at the obstacles in her life and has overcome them. If you aren't afraid or *gasp* offended by someone who cusses a little bit, tells it like it is, and are a "Fat Girl Walking" or even if you're a Skinny Girl Walking.... you'll want to read this book. You'll definitely laugh and I'm almost positive you'll relate to a few obstacles she's been through in her life.

So real and so funny! I loved this book
So real and so funny! I loved this book. Any woman who has ever had any body image concerns in her life can relate to this book. It has nothing to do with being too fat or too skinny or too tall or too short. Brittany’s message is that we should not be defined by our crime scene chalk outlines but as long as we view each ourselves and each other women to women that way, being our own and each other’s worst critics nothing will change for our daughters.

Intelligent, Funny, Brave
Awesome memoir! I love the author's relaxed and friendly writing style. It makes me feel like I know her personally. We learn about Brittany Gibbon's childhood, her struggles with weight and social life. She recounts her time in college and her relationship with her then-boyfriend now husband Andy. She also recounts her time having three children and her ever changing body. Throughout the memoir, she extols the importance of body love and acceptance. She is brave and happy and makes you want to be like that too. I'm on my second time reading it, it's that good!

The best!
This was the most enjoyable book I’ve ever read!! I hate to say ‘mindless reading’ but it was just easy and absolutely hilarious!! I’ve never laughed out loud while reading a book before. If you’re a woman, there is something you can relate to in the book. It’s carefree and so relatable. One of those books I will read again.

More woe is me..
Whilst there are many cringe worthy points in this book it doesn't make a fantastic read. Not saying that Mrs Gibbons is not talented but many of the chapters (especially at the beginning) practically beg you to play a tiny violin. Woe is me. I can see where she was trying to make her early life as crappy as it may have been "funny".Trying too hard, i prefer her blog.

It changed Me
I LOVED THIS BOOK! I wasn't sure if i would at first. It was a book club pick from someone else. But somehow, this book changed me. Especially the last half. Some parts resonated with me so much that I started to view myself differently. I started to view myself the way my husband views me and I stopped caring so much about the negative feelings I had about my body and started trying to think positively about myself. The author is an incredible woman and I look forward to whatever comes next for her.

Great read!
I have followed Brittany and her blog for years and was so happy when she announced this book! She is so relatable and really puts it all out there. I admire her transparency and love that she doesn't feel the need for filters. I think anyone could relate to her and her writing. You will laugh, cry, and cry with laughter but most off all you will thoroughly enjoy this book. Looking forward to reading her next book!

Yes, yes and Yes!!!
You've heard of the women's movement right? Well, when you catch the swell of that parade, with the Wonderful Brittany Gibbons is where I want to be walking! I've been reading brittanyherself.com for quite some time, and always appreciate the realness, the rawness and the raunchyness of this Beautiful Badass woman. If you are a woman, this book is for you, if you are a man, this book is for you, heck, if you are a human being just trying to make on this rapidly spinning planet, than this book is for You. It is about body image, it is about sex and it is about being comfortable in your own skin - but more than that it is about Kindness. In how we view the world and each other and most importantly ourselves! I think it's ok to say the last two chapters are my absolute favourite, Love, love, Love the emails!! - this is not to say by any means skip to the end, you'd miss so much. This is only the first of hopefully many for the strength, insight and fantastic humour that is Brittany Herself!

A little over hyped.
It's a good book, it reads well and I always have enjoyed reading Brittany's blog. Why only three stars? I feel like it's a tad over-hyped.I feel like the book itself could have been a little more 'meatier based on the rave reviews that it received from so many people.I would borrow it from the library next time rather than purchasing it personally.I liked it, but I didn't love it.
