Seemed like a quality made quadcopter
Seemed like a quality made quadcopter, but maintaining its flight for more than a minute wasn't feasible. Which wasn't very fun for a two year old to watch, that being I made the purchase to begin with. The quality was good, poor instructions, reasonable price and easy (somewhat) of a setup (even though the instructions were poor). I haven't tried anything similar to this quadcopter so if this is acceptable of these products. I will remain hesitant to purchase any until technology catches up with the technology.

Great if it would have worked
This is my first quadcopter. It came packaged well and assembly was very simple. The manual that came with it left a lot to be desired. Once the batteries were fully charged it's flight time. I could not get the quad to hover in one spot, it kept wanting to travel in one direction. I tried to trim/fine tune to get it to hover as directed in the manual but this didn't help. It appeared that 1 or 2 of the motors were not running at the same speed as the others thus causing it to want to travel. At first it wasn't to bad and I thought I could live with it. After a couple of flights it got to the point if you flew to the left you couldn't get it to go to the right. You could move the control lever all the way to the right and the quad wouldn't even level out. Several attempts to fine tune and trim did not help. I had to return the unit. If the unit would have worked it would have been a great little unit. It was real easy to fly but mine just didn't fly right.

A great option for beginners
Quad copters and drones are starting to become much more popular lately and as such you'll start seeing more and more of them available for much lower prices. This one in particular makes for a great quad copter for anyone that is starting to get into it. You'll notice in the box that you have the quad copter itself, the battery charger, two extra batteries, an SD card, extra blades, the controller, as well as a screw driver that can be used to take off parts such as the prop guards, or the camera. The screw driver can also be used to swap out the blades, but I'll go more in depth on that in a bit. The quad copter is already paired with the remote right out of the box and all you'll need to do to get started is find some AA batteries for the remote and you'll be ready to go. Once the batteries are inserted, you can turn on the remote and then turn the switch from off, to on that is on the copter itself. You'll notice that the LED lights on the bottom portion of the quad copter are not flashing and you're ready to get to flying. I would highly recommend you take this outside to a nice open area where there isn't many trees, or anything that this could get stuck in. I personally started trying this inside and almost immediately regretted doing that because it just starts bumping into walls and knocking over everything in sight. Unless you have some prior experience with quad copters or drones, then I would recommend beginning outside. Once outside, set the drone on the ground with the camera pointing away from your body. The controls are very straight forward this way which can get confusing if you face it in other directions. The left stick controls the actual height of the copter, as well as letting you spin it. I would try to only start with taking it up and down once you begin to get the hang of it. As I mentioned a bit ago, I would suggest starting with the camera facing away from you because this makes the right stick easier to get the hang up. Pressing up on it, makes it go forward, down is back, left goes left, and right goes right. If you turn the copter in another direction then those controls will change which makes it a tad confusing so just keep that in mind. The quad copter was easily able to fly up about one hundred feet with no issues. It withstands the wind very well even at one hundred feet. You should easily be able to fly this up higher then that, but I personally couldn't bring myself to do that without fear of this thing getting lost. The controller is very responsive and you can make split second changes in direction and the quad copter almost instantly responds to the changes you've made. One other thing this copter can be used for is pictures and videos. The picture and video quality is actually decent for the price you're paying for everything included. The audio is also very clear on videos but there is one minor problem that I've found with videoing especially in windy conditions is that the camera footage ends up being very shaky. This is a bit of a disappointment but should be expected with the price you're paying for this thing. Flight time can vary quite a bit depending on what you decide you need attached to the quad copter. If you are just starting out then I'd suggest only removing the camera until you learn how to fly it and then you can remove the guards and whatever else you want. The flight time with everything attached is roughly seven minutes in my experience and while they do only advertise about eight minutes maximum for flight time, I got around ten with everything removed. The batteries take a few hours to charge but luckily you get a total of three of them which should get you about a half hour of total flight time. Overall, I think that this is a very capable quad copter that comes with a lot of extra parts in case of accidental crashes, it has a camera to record video and take pictures, and the controller is very responsive allowing for split second direction changes. The quad copter is good even harsh winds and other then the shaky video camera footage it works great outdoors. I did receive this to test out and provide feedback on, but my review is honest. If you have any questions then I'll be happy to answer them to the best of my abilities. To sum up what I like and dislike about this product, I'll list the pros and cons below.Pro's:- Comes with many spare parts.- Extra batteries.- Has a camera.- Is easy to learn to fly.- Has guards around the blades.- Comes with an SD card.- The controller is nice and very responsive.- Has bright LED's which can be helpful at night.- Works great in harsh winds.- Can easily fly it over 100 feet in the air.Con's:- The charge time takes a few hours.- The video camera footage is shaky.

Quick & Nimble!
'The Syma X5C-1 Quadcopter is a swift little quadcopter that flies like a dream. It’s very responsive to all the controls and the camera captures great aerial footage.' It's easy to fly straight out of the box and assembly is super easy. Be sure that when you put blades on that the warning signs on them match up exactly how they are shown on the box picture. I uploaded a picture showing the correct way circled for you to see easily. If you do not put the blades on this way the copter will not fly, I had one blade wrong on mine and all it wanted to do was flip over until I switched it out and then it flew like a dream.' It comes packaged with 2 extra 600mAh LiPO batteries which extends your flying time and each battery can last 6-10 minutes depending on the speed setting you are flying at and whether you are recording and doing lots of flips which also will drain your battery faster. So expect flight times to vary depending on what exactly you are doing.' The trim buttons worked nicely to get the copter steady and stable'Included also is a 4gb SD card for the camera, I never tested the pictures but the video quality is superb! I wish I had flown it over some more landscape besides the grass and trees to show you just exactly how great it is, but you can tell from my video it's quite nice.' Stunt/rolls are a breeze with this copter, you simply press the top right button then whichever direction you press the right stick is the way your copter will flip' It doesn't have a headless mode that I am aware of which is perfectly fine for me, I've gotten used to flying without it and if you keep practicing you won't need headless at all as it becomes intuitive and you get a feel for how to fly it.' Overall I have to say this copter was super fun to fly as it can make tight and quick turns and has a very nice range. It has become one of my favorite ones to fly because of how agile it is. As long as you don't have any breezes you should be perfectly fine flying this. I received this product to test and review in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
