mantic Games, Armada: 2-Player Starter Set

All in all, a pretty good game.The models are cast resin. And, while highly detailed, they are super hard to put together. There is also a lot of waste from the resin casting process.You will have to do a fair amount of clipping and trimming mold lines.You also have to do a really good job washing the models in soapy water, otherwise paint won’t stick to them.Where the game shines is it’s wonderfully fun and addictive. The rules are simple, but tactically complex enough to make for an amazing game.I’ve subtracted a 2 stars purely because it isn’t as accessible as it should be. I think they could have used plastic ships of some kind, perhaps lower detail.If my friends want to get into the game, I will have to put the models together and paint them.The ships are also extremely brittle and will break instantly if they fall.Hopefully Mantic can make a more accessible 2nd edition, because it truly is a great game.
