Yost Vises MU360 Universal Jaw Cover, 6"

A very inexpensive way to make your metalworking vise suitable for woodworking. Magnets hold firm to metal vise. Soft material won’t deface your wood. These are such a great deal that I bought both the flat-faced as well as the version with recesses designed to hold round stock. Highly recommend.

Appear to be well made and do what they were designed to do. Naturally, as with any plastic vise jaw cover, they are susceptible to damage if over tightened. Use common sense and they will provide great service.

I generally put on the vice things that I cannot mar like pistol slides, acrylic pieces, and aluminum boxes. In the past I had to use things like cleaning clothes around anything that may get scratched by the vice but that was a pain to do and many times had to over tighten because the piece I was working with would slide between the cloth and the vice. I purchased the 6 inch pair of these covers so I can use them with all my vices and not worry about the length. The fact that they are magnetic is very helpful because you can take them off and put them back on a vice effortlessly. They also have grooves that helps to better grip the piece you are working with without having to tighten too much and risk bending it. Recently I had to drill multiple holes on multiple aluminum boxes and these covers came very handy on the drill press vice. If you are using your vice with finished products and materials, I highly recommend this item.

Great product. I like the three magnets, they hold the jaws securely to my vice. Would have liked them better if it had a smooth face instead of the cross hatched knurling.

As I show in my video, you can use these 6" long jaw covers on smaller, 5" jaws. They totally work on a smaller vice like the one I show in my video (and bought at Lowwes). My video shows how these magnetic covers attach and come off just as easily. Note that the purpose of these jaw covers is simple: they protect whatever you put in your vice, keeping the rough, metal jaws from marring your wood, plastic, metal, or whatever it is your clamping down on.

Job pads did a decent job holding onto the materials. I was working on only problem I had was pads holding onto vice jaws..

They work good and not too expensive. I mostly use them when clamping my chainsaw while I sharpen it

Outstanding and well priced soft jaws for your vise. Must have for anyone who puts delicate work in the vise jaws or if you do not want to damage or mark whatever you put in your vise. The magnets hold the soft jaws in place, and it remains sturdy. The material is a firm (not hard, but also not too soft) plastic that is easy to wipe clean.

Work very well. The magnetic holders work okay but also has screw mounts if you want a more permanent mount. Protects stuff you are clam,ping very well while still holding them tightly

These jaw covers are excellent. They're soft enough to not mar most items, yet the texture helps hold items tightly. You will likely have to use more force from the vise though, as the friction is decreased by these jaw covers versus the vises steel jaws. I have tried them on jaws ranging from 4" to 6", all have worked well. The magnetic attachment is convenient as it really speeds up removal and installation of the jaw covers. The only downside, and why I do not give the jaws 5 stars, is that the magnets are a little weak. An upgrade to neodymium magnets would make the covers far more secure and likely easier and faster to use.
