You are never going to be fooled, but it is a darn good simulation and really pleasant.
We had to compromise due to size constraints to fit a solid fuel stove, we watched the videos of the stove in action and the effect was the best of those for our budget. Once received pleasantly surprised by the weight, solid and appears well put together, there are four levels of flame effect, plus the addition of blue flames if you wish (we do, we much prefer it), there are two levels of heat, or flame effect only. We also like the opening door, just adds a level of realism, plus it means the manual controls are hidden away. The remote control is a great bonus. All in all we are genuinely really pleased, what started as a compromise has ended up being a real pleasure.
