FULI Japanese Tatami Mattress, Foldable Igusa Rush Grass, Natural, Twin

A necessary supplement for the soft mattress. It truly compliments and completes it as a bed. Very light and easily moveable, doesn't smell and is easy to clean.

This is our second tatami mat purchase from this company and we are more than happy with the mats. They are beautiful and very comfortable to lay and sit on. A good sturdy thickness and well designed. Our cats even love to lay on them. The mats are easy to was and vacuum, and easy to take apart and rearrange into various shapes to fit your room. The mats are thick and cushioned, and have a nice grassy smell to them that we find relaxing. I suggest keeping it cleaned and spraying it with a dust mite killer from time to time, as dust mites enjoy tatami mats. Overall, great product and purchase, would definitely recommend.

Bought this for my loft bed and to put under a natural latex mattress. Love it, very durable and perfect size for the bed frame.

Golden

I aired it every day for oveer 2 weeks, but couldn't get the smell out. And I like the smell of hay, but this was different. Way too strong, it would quickly smell up any room. Once asleep though, the added support is great and improved sleep quality. I ended up returning as I couldn't live with the smell, and I am far from a smell sensitive person.

I bought the twin XL size. I'm 5'5" and weigh 220lbs. I'm surprised at how long and wide the twin XL size is, in a good way! It's not HUGE or even close to being full or queen size but even for my body, the twin XL is very generous and I have plenty of room to lay down and stretch out. As others have stated, there is a strong smell of wilderness. Imagine the scent of grass you get when you visit the zoo, that's basically it. But, in my opinion, it's a comforting and soothing scent! I don't mean to say it smells like feces-flinging monkeys, it's just a strong scent of rush grass so be prepared for that. The tatami mat is on the thin side but that suits me just fine because I plan on folding this up every morning when I awake so the less space it takes up, the better. It folds nicely and the only reason it gets 4 stars for sturdiness is because the three sections are held together with looped string (albeit, a lot of it) but I can only hope it holds up over time. It just looks like something that a person who is rough will be able to demolish if they don't fold/treat this tatami mat properly and gently. Despite being thin, it actually is more comfortable to lay directly on this compared to lying directly on my carpeted floor. I can't wait to get my FULI twin XL mattress this weekend so I can place on top of this tatami mat!

This review is for two Fuli products that I purchased: the FULI Japanese Traditional Shiki Futon High Grade Floor Mattress and FULI Japanese Traditional Igusa (Rush Grass) Tatami Mattress. I had purchased both items because as a minimalist, I wanted to simplify my life, which meant getting rid of the bed and sleeping on the floor again (I sleep better on the floor). Both products arrived in a timely manner without damage. Upon opening the carton for the tatami mat, the pleasant igusa (rush grass) aroma put me in a sentimental mood as it brought back memories of Japan, where I had lived for 10 years and miss dearly. The futon was delivered compressed in a vacuum bag. Upon close inspection of the futon and tatami mat, the attention to detail and superb craftsmanship that Japan is well known for is apparent in both products. There were no defects that I could find. A nice touch was the signed thank you card and folded origami crane that were in a plastic sleeve taped carefully to the carton exterior of both products (see picture). Before discarding the carton, be sure to inspect the exterior of the box for the thank you card and origami crane! The futon and tatami mat require special care. Detailed care methods are included with both products. Overall, I rate both products 5 stars.

It's so lovely. We wanted to switch to a shikibuton for years and we finally did. This mat is such good quality and the smell is really pleasant. Love it! It makes everything so comfortable! Parents with 2 littles and we are over the moon with it.

Me hubiera gustado que llegara un poco más grande que el colchón , ya que queda muy justo

An excellent Japanese made Tatami. Use it with the 'matching' Futon by Fuli. Very good quality. Ideal for those who like the traditional Japanese look and feel. This is a tough, authentic seagrass mat - Not cheap but authentic. Foldable to a very manageable size. Portable and with the futon, can easily get both from outdoors to upstairs bedroom and set up solo in minutes. Making the bed up with sheets took longer! Easy setup for one person to do - no need to get help carrying and laying out mattress and bed together. Comes with a tiny origami bird which was a fun touch.

Very comfy tatami mat, excellent service from the seller!

I have used this mat every day for the last two years, in combination with a bamboo-cloth memory foam mattress. Together on the floor feels like sleeping on a real bed. The rush grass mattress wicks moisture away from the mattress, and from the sleeper, very effectively - I can see how much moisture is collected on my wood floor. The mat, just like the mattress, can be folded into three during the day, and it dries off quickly and thoroughly. It is well made, firmly bound together and I can see no signs of wear or flattening. The stitching between the three panels is very very thorough indeed. Together with the 3-fold mattress above it, this mat has revolutionised my living, freeing up loads of space in my small house and offering a very comfortable low-cost solution,

Very good quality product. After two weeks of using it - still smells as grass which is nice and calming. Folds nicely. Easy to clean. Not the cheapest bust worth the money in my opinion.
