I LOVE IT!
It gives definitive, accurate definitions, with examples and usage tips so you know exactly what you'll say and how to say it. I felt like I was floundering not knowing nuance, not being certain which word to express what I'm thinking; and that's what this Dictionary delivers between its two beautiful blue covers. The cover is vinyl, I would prefer fabric even at a higher price because the vinyl will wear poorly, but otherwise it's everything I'd hoped and more! I won't need another French dictionary in my lifetime.Oh and online translators are incomparable, don't even begin to cover the depth, prioritize what the meanings are, or explain usage the way the Collins does.

Slight edge over Larousse
I have both this one and the equivalent Larousse. Giving the Collins/le Robert a slight edge due to more content. Of course the text in both of them is small, so break out the reading glasses. I wish the Larousse had the same quality as Larousse's monolingual dictionaries--really both of these have fragile pages and small text. If I had the money to fork over for the on-line subscription, I'd probably go that route. I wanted something I could browse through and write in the margins. Not much room for that, but still can underline a little.

Wonderful
I have been using this dictionary on a daily basis for past 4 months. Very intuitively and beautifully organized, with very well thought out usage examples. An absolute delight to use. Paper quality is actually excellent. Even though page thickness may initially seem somewhat thin, it stands up to normal/heavy usage very well.

Good book for the money
Mine arrived a little torn on the binding. I did not return. I was too happy for find a new French book for the price and the size is BIG. Great buy love it! Use it and it is fun to look through and find new words and expression.

Complete and easy to use
This massive book seems to have all the words. Physically, the pages are easy to manipulate if you are using this as a reference in an exam.

The best English-French, French-English dictionary. Period.
I had one of Collins' previous editions for 19 years. This one will have some of the newer vocabulary from both languages. It is why I got an "A" on my Final translation exam.

Collins Robert French Dictionary Complete and Unabridged Edition: For Advanced Learners
Amazon Prime has exceeded my expectation. The order was lost in transit and upon contacting Amazon, they managed to replace and dispatch the order in the fastest way, make it in time for my child's school needs. And they refunded the postage.

見出し語および語義グループ区分け数字( 1 2…)がライトブルーで表示され、見易い・探し易い
最新(2016年)の仏英・英仏辞典だけに環境、テレコミュニケーション、経済関係の語彙のカバレッジが充実している。残念なのは、英仏セクションと仏英セクションの相互参照が不十分なことだ。例えば、英仏セクションでstakeholderを引くとpartie prenanteの仏語訳が与えられが、仏英セクションではpartie prenanteはêtre partie prenante dans une negotiation (=to be a party to a negotiation)として登場するだけで汎用性のあるstakeholderの英語訳は与えられない。

Content great, legibility and production quality abysmal
I have been using large foreign language dictionaries for over 50 years as a student and teacher of languages.I bought this 2020 11th edition as an update to the 2016 10th edition. Upon opening it I thought my eyesight had suffered a dramatic loss overnight. Accustomed to being able to scan whole paragraphs and pick out detail easily, this was not the case with this book. I pulled out my previous edition and compared the two.The blue used in the older edition is darker and slightly easier to see. However, the real problems lie with the black print which is paler and offers less contrast and with the apparently thinner or lesser quality paper itself which suffers from the print on the back showing through more noticeably than on the old edition, despite the paler print. Looking at the first pages of the two editions you can also see that in the new edition more letters have been packed into each line of print which, along with the paler print and more transparent paper makes clarity and easy reading even more of an issue.Unlike another reviewer here I would normally suggest the Collins Robert as totally suitable for university study. Especially when alternative French-English dictionaries with such up-to-date vocabulary are thin on the ground. The Oxford Hachette is 14 years old and will clearly not contain a lot of vocabulary which is now in everyday use. This Collins Robert is an update of their 2016 update, but even so does not contain items like Covid or coronavirus because of the long lead-up time for creating a dictionary.I seem to have damaged the blue covering material on a corner and on the front cover as I took some photographs - the cover on my older copy is still intact. Another quality issue or my clumsiness?I think it is remarkable to be able to buy a fairly comprehensive dictionary of two languages at such a cheap price, and to have fitted all that material into one book which it is still possible to handle fairly easily. However, the issues I have highlighted here suggest to me that a 2-volume edition may necessary in the future. Most people probably only use one half of the book at any one time, so that would not be a major problem, and 2 slightly lighter, slimmer volumes with very clear print would be my preference.I hope the photos of the 2016 edition (darker blue) and the 2020 edition (lighter blue) are helpful, but I think the difference is starker in real life.

Incredible dictionary!
This thing is 5x the size of my Bible. Not only does it come with translated definitions but also little sections with cultural tidbits, examples of how to use certain words, grammar instruction, and even more than that. It's more than just a dictionary. It's an essential for learning French!
