IT WORKS!!!
I finally have a happy household with everyone getting a strong Wi-Fi signal throughout the house. I have a Virgin Media hub 3.0 and pay for the fastest internet connection but none of this matters if the Wi-Fi signal is rubbish. I've had Virgin engineers out over the years, tried the plug in extenders and another mesh system. The last engineer I had out recommended I get a mesh system as in his experience, from homes he works in, they appear to be the best option. He named another brand, but I'd tried it previously and returned it, so did some reading up on reviews and comments on different shop sites. Firstly, Netgear is a well known decent brand and from reviews this Nighthawk rated pretty highly in the main, you'll always get some negative comments. I went belt and braces with the biggest square footage coverage and supporting 25+ gadgets. We downloaded app, scanned qr codes and plugged in letting Netgear app do it's thing connecting them up. My sons wanted a box in each of their bedrooms as they are opposite ends of the house and so they could connect directly into them. Gob smacking! We had full bars all over house, their phones, TVs all connected no problem and best of all when they did the speed test it was off the scale and ping tests were good and got better as they played games. This has, so far, been well worth investing in and I hope it continues to work. My life has never been so peaceful! I certainly felt begrudged having to pay out for extenders after what I pay Virgin for broadband, but this really is a game changer. A tip from the engineer was to plug the router into Virgin Hub using a long Ethernet cable and place the Netgear router into an adjacent room if Wi-Fi signal was still poor. I didn't need to do that, it sits next to the Virgin hub plugged in and signal is brilliant.

Serious Router, Serious WIFI
I decided to take the plunge and invest in a £230 router setup. Fortunately/Unfortunately, I don't live in a "plasterboard throw up" I live in an old house with 2 levels so trying to get a decent WIFI from downstairs was becoming an issue. I originally had the Apple AirPort Extreme 802.11ac but was only getting speeds of 2.3Mbps.Nighthawk router and satellite is pretty light, very simple. Not too bad to set up. Now i'm getting 100Mbps everywhere in the house - bedrooms, loft, back garden. Very happy with the speeds. Can easily do 2 different zooms in the house while sending files on WeTransfer. One word of caution - when doing the original installation - DO NOT GET DISRUPTED. I was halfway through the install, I changed the Network name and password, went to do something else, didn't finish the installation and then the setup couldn't find my router or satellite, couldn't connect, couldn't do anything. In the end I had to manually connect my laptop directly to the router and change my settings via the DNS route which was a ballache.Other than that - works well, very very happy - was worth the money. I couldn't handle the spinning loading netflix icon anymore every other evening.

Very good signal when set up
Very big improvement on my previous and outdated Devolo system. Now get a very good wifi signal throughout the house. We have a tall thin house with a loft extension so to be sure of a very good signal in all the corners I bought two extra satellites (actually I bought a second MK63 set as that was cheaper than buying two standalone satellites separately). So I now have a total of 4 satellites operating off the main router and the signal is strong everywhere. The reason for 4 rather than 5 stars is simply that it requires a lot of effort to set up. I think this might be to do with the software on the Iphone App which is a bit clunky. But after checking out an info video on You Tube I managed to get all four satellites paired and working in tandem. And it is now completely stable and working fine.

Just provides reliable, stable wifi and fixes the appalling Virgin Media Hub 3 wifi
I had endless trouble with the Virgin Media Hub 3 wifi performance - called out their engineers twice and even they said their router provided terrible wifi performance - they suggested getting a wifi router to sort it. After much thought I went for the Netgear Nighthawk Mesh Wifi 6 system of a router and two satellites from Amazon UK. Not too difficult to set up, just ethernet link it from the Netgear router into the Virgin router and run the Netgear app to set up the satellites in other areas of the house. You can then use the Netgear wifi or use the individual ethernet plugs in the back of each satellite to connect individual devices, which works really well. I also bought an extra MS60 satellite for another area of the house although I had to get this from Amazon in the US (which arrived within a week) as I wanted to make sure the wifi coverage was good in all areas. (the extra MS60 satellite isn't yet available in the UK - confirmed by Netgear UK, but easily imported from the US from Amazon). The result is rock-solid wifi throughout the house with all devices working at about the 108mbps speed provided by Virgin fibre. This comes at a cost, about £450 in total, but no-one in the house now complains about slow, laggy wifi or experiences the constant wifi drop-outs we had all the time before. Highly recommended.

Very impressive - did the job I bought it for. A decent investment!
I have a large (5 bedroom) Victorian house, over 3 floors, with a 2-story rear extension, largely made of brick. I have tried all sorts of solutions to get decent WiFi around the house, none have been very effective - most very cumbersome to make work at all well. So, I bit the bullet and plumped for the Netgear Nighthawk Mesh. I went for the Router+2x Satellites (MK63), then added 2x more satellites. Setup was easy, but "tuning" took a while - although it was well worth the extra effort. My broadband is reasonable (Vodafone, av 70Mbps) - all I needed to do was to turn off the WiFi at the Vodafone router and physically link (ethernet) that to the Netgear router, and also ethernet the router to a PC. I introduced the satellites one-at-a-time, and ensured they were all working individually, before restarting the whole system and watching all of the satellites mesh together. Wonderful to behold! I'm getting 90-99% signal coverage in all the rooms, and wireless speeds are only just off wired speeds. Also, the system is not prone to drop-outs as people move around, or if other high-powered devices (e.g., induction hob) are used near a satellite. The only downside so far is that I would have liked to have been able to wall-mount some of the satellites.
