Yes, it did cost more than some but read the reviews and they convinced me to buy this one ! Large, robust and you can tell it is worth the extra, easy to fit with screws provided and looks and works brilliantly ! Rust resistant and worth the money !

Excellent and genuinely heavy duty Gate Latch
Note: This is the 57mm "heavy duty" version of the Irontite Gate Latch, and is very well made from heavier guage steel. There is another similar Irontite gate latch which is slightly cheaper and not quite as robust. I am very happy with the quality and function of this heavy duty latch, which also comes with quality mounting screws. MUCH better than all of the generic cheap latches on offer here and elsewhere (including the ususal hardware and builders merchants) which may seem very cheap, but are poorly made from thin metal and do not function well, and fall apart quickly. If you are (like I was me) searching for the best quality latch available, look no further. I highly recommend this item.
