Children's Book of Baking Cakes

Really loved all the little details given in the book. The step-by-step pictures help a lot. They also have lots of variations and substitutions given for each recipe which is great. Overall a great buy for kids or teenagers who has just started baking.

I bought 4 x this book for our school bake off competition prizes. I wss disapointed as read the reviews saying it was suitable for children age 7-12!! . In my view it's suitable for a lot younger children. The recipies are very simple. Therefore unsuitable for children age 7-11. More 4-7 yrs.I will be returning these books.

This is absolute fantastic!! A huge selection of easy cupcakes/traybakes or larger celebration cakes. The instructions are so easy to follow, the image step by step is great. The ideal age I'd say is 7-12 years. Although I will probably bake stuff from it too lol!

Having bought Usborne books for my three grandchildren since they were born, and never been disappointed. I bought the 'Childrens's Book of Baking Cakes for my ten year old granddaughter, who has always enjoyed baking, whilst in Granny's kitchen, with confidence.Neither she nor I were disappointed, well illustrated and explained, encourages the interest in baking.Very pleased, buy with confidence. The book looks lovely, clear instructions for the younger ones, she was super excited to use this, however, the quantities are ridiculous! One recipe states makes 25 cupcakes, followed it by the book, just about got 6 cupcakes out of it and the 6 we did get were extremely small. As lovely as the book is, it's rather pointless if you don't get out of it what the recipe states. My daughter's 9 and loves to bake, which we do often so it wasn't a new thing for us. When actually looking through the recipes the quantities really don't make sense.

My two 11yr old granddaughters love to make cakes and this book is perfect as their first baking book, easy to follow instructions and colourful pictures
