I'm a creature of rigid habit, so when I change my routine, it's under pretty controlled conditions. As I've entered menopause, I've noticed my eyes are a lot drier, and don't focus as quickly. My older sister was recently told she has the beginnings of macular degeneration, so I decided to start taking eye vitamins as a pre-emptive measure. I've been taking these about a month, and I'd say it took 3 weeks or so for noticeable differences. I wasn't sure what to expect, if anything. My eyes definitely focus more rapidly, my vision is sharper, and the dryness is gone. Also, the whites of my eyes are definitely whiter. Not only is my eye dryness gone, but my skin overall is significantly more hydrated and smooth. That crepey, old lady skin that was developing under my neck has smoothed out, my hair is bouncier because the new growth isn't dry and brittle like my hair has become. I recently took a road trip that required multiple long days of driving. Usually, I would have a headache from eye strain the first day, but I did not experience any eye fatigue. To be clear, my prescription hasn't changed, but the health of my eyes certainly has. I will also note that I have a diet that contains plenty of colorful vegetables, dark leafy greens, and good fats, so I do think having bioavailable nutrients helps the body absorb vitamins better. Most vitamins need to bond to some type of fat or form a compound with other molecules to be absorbed and not just pass through you. These did not arrive melted, and the taste is fine. I hate taking pills, so I appreciate the gummy format. I did notice the zinc, C, and E are lower that the Arends protocol vitamins, and there is no copper (required with high levels of zinc because zinc interferes with copper absorption). Otherwise, the content looks pretty similar. I'm trying a bottle of B&L's Arends chewable next and will see if results stay consistent, improve, or diminish.

In addition, this is a product from Bausch & Lomb an established company that specializes in eye care and eye care products. Although vitamins such as Ocuvite Eye Health do not prevent macular degeneration it has been proven to slow the progression and vision loss. By taking eye vitamins I hope to maintain and slow the degeneration in my eyes. The USDA has approved a telescopic implant designed to improve vision of age related macular degeneration. Hopefully this will soon be available and affordable for all those suffering from this condition.

The Ocuvite Gummies were delivered via the U. S. Post Office on July 15, 2024. Having been in transit for two days the bottle of gummy vitamins were undoubtedly exposed to the ambient temperatures all along the boxes route. On the day of delivery the box was placed inside our metal mailbox when combined with the 104 degree temperature melted the Gummies into a solid mass inside the bottle. I don't know who to blame the most but rather I'll say it was a joint responsibility. Amazon should have used an alternant carrier or give delivery instructions to the Post Office concerning the handling of the product and the Post Office should have placed the box on our front porch as they normally do instead of putting it in the mailbox. To review the product, it's an excellent product and highly recommended by our eye specialist. Ocuvite by Bosh and Lomb is a daily vitamin developed especially for the eyes. Yes, I can highly recommend it to anyone regardless of age.
