Atoma extra fine
Fantastic diamond stones, great quality and cuts and polishes nicely, much better quality then my dmt and sharpal and satc diamond stones. Highly recommend!

Excellent Diamond Plate
Excellent extra fine diamond plate. Flat. No grit contamination. Much better quality than DMT. Only a little finicky to apex or microbevel because of the cluster pattern of the diamonds.

Wonderful stones
These are exactly what I was hoping for. The diamonds are evenly distributed, the cutting surface works well, they're large stones and easy to work with. They do exactly what they're supposed to do. Add a base for them and you have yourself a perfect knife sharpening system. Just be careful not to accidently score the aluminum base by snagging an edge of your knife when polishing the secondary edge like I did. Much QQ! But that's on me, not the stones. Highly recommend. They speed up the sharpening job quite a lot.

Way better than the other major brand I tried
I’ve been using this for seven years and it’s still doing great. It has way outlasted my DMT diamond stones, which had a lot of material chip away and developed rust in less than a year.

140 thru 1200 atoma plates and shapton ceramic 320, 1000, 2000
Quick and easy reprofiling. I'm a big Atoma diamond plat user. I have every grit and love them all. A close second is my shapton professional series!

top Japanese Quality
These are very good stones - very flat, they cut great and after owning the 140 grit stone and comparing it to my DMT extra extra coarse diamond plate I decided to splash out and get the full set of the Atoma diamond stones 340, 600 and 1200 grit cutters. I use them for sharpening kitchen knives, wood planes, Japanese kana blades and Japanese chisels. they work very well and after finishing off on the 1200 diamond stone I move to my 3000 and then 6000 grit whetstones. they are cost-effective and very large which makes sharpening my wide plane blades very easy.

Absolutely flawless sharpening stone.
The diamond side is absoooolutley flawless. ZERO grit contamination, I don't think I've ever bought a diamond stone that you can just use without needing to break it in and knock any loose diamonds off but atoma definitely achieved it. I also bought their #140, #400, #600 stones as well (the 140 definitely needed a bit of break in but nothing out of ordinary) , I'd knock off a star for the bottom corners having dents but those aren't atomas fault that's more of an amazon always shipping heavy objects in thin bubble mailers and the us postal service employees being unable to hold onto anything heavier than a piece of lettuce.

Purchased new - received used
The product itself gets 5 stars. Atoma plates are fantastic. The diamonds last a long time, size is consistent, flatness is above reproach, the ability to replace the diamond sheet instead of the entire plate is a welcome alternative over competitive brands, etc. Highly recommended over any other diamond plate. However, the plate I ordered was shipped from Amazon and sold by "Tool Factory Japan". I received a clearly used or possibly " stale" plate. The inside of the packaging was dirty like it sat on a machine shop shelf for a few years, and the face of the plate had visible defects, either from being dropped or from being used. I attempted to contact the seller or otherwise address the issue through Amazon chat. I was only able to initiate a return or "deal with it". I chose to deal with it as the gas money and extra time involved in initiating a return and waiting for a replacement wasn't worth the hassle, but beware: Amazon, it seems these days, will not be a convenient avenue through which to lodge complaints or other feedback outside of product reviews, and Tool Factory Japan might be providing used, refurbished, or old/second products to Amazon and passing them off as new. For this, I'm leaving 1 star. Best of luck on your order. If you get a new plate, you won't be disappointed.
