Fascinating read
I'd been looking for a book covering this part of British history for some time and was delighted to finally find an informed and well-researched account of how the drugs trade laid its roots here rather than just the typical well-covered 60s and onward period. The author does an incredible job of giving you insight into the characters involved and their personalities as well as informative detail on the role they each played and how it impacted the landscape.Once I started reading, I couldn't put it down. Fascinating insight into a relatively-unknown part of history.

How it all started
A very interesting book dealing with the beginning of the war on drugs in the 1920s. A surprisingly sophisticated international trade lead by a whole hotchpotch of different personalities. This book certainly fills the vacuum of knowledge on what went on before the 1960s which many believe is when drug taking started. Highly recommended.
