Is it possible to replace the sprinkler head only?

Depends on what you are asking,...can you get just the sprinkler part and install it in place of your broken sprinkler in the housing in your yard, no. But, I buy these, use my sprinkler wrench to unscrew the sprinkler from the new housing and install it in place of the old sprinkler in the ground. I end up throwing away the housing, seems like a waste but as near as I can tell there is no other way.

Does the sprinkler head fit a 1/2 inch riser?

As I recall these are 3/4" female fittings. It really should be stated in the specs but isn't. You could get an adapter but they throw of so much water I suspect that might change the output.

Can the distance be adjusted to only between 15-20 feet?

Yes you can adjust the distance by turning in the diffuser screw and by playing with the size of nozzles. I love the sprinkler. I have been replacing my Hunter I 20 with them.

Can I use this with a garden hose and get enough coverage?

If you have enough water pressure, you should get enough coverage.
