Update: Sorry, I was unable to figure out how to put this at the end instead of the beginning of this edit. Anyway, a year and a half later, the battery died, even though showing 100% charged. I ordered another one, and now it seems to be working. Interestingly, same exact battery, but this time comes with different instructions as to how to keep it running well. The last one came with complicated instructions about putting it through cycles of discharge and recharge every month. This time it just says discharge to 2% and then charge to 100% on first cycle. So basically, the original battery that came with my Sony laptop lasted 6 years; the first replacement (this one I am reviewing) lasted a year and a half, and we shall see about the second replacement. I re-ordered the same one because I knew it was compatible with my laptop and didn't want to try to figure that out again.Original review (October 2016)I agonized forever over this purchase, so many options, not one of which actually mentioned my exact Sony Vaio laptop in the specifications. It turns out that as long as the battery is compatible with the original battery, the exact laptop model didn't matter, at least not in my case. Anyway, I am in the process right now of following the seller's exact directions on how to calibrate it for the first time. I am actually typing this while on battery alone during the calibration process. My last battery died, completely. So I couldn't even take the laptop from one room to another without turning it off first and then back on -- very annoying. Hopefully, I won't have to come back and change my rating, but for right now I am a happy camper.Update: It is now about a year and a half later since I bought this. Everything was fine, getting good battery life depending on what I was using it for. But now all of a sudden, the battery does not work. It shows as 100% charged, but when I unplug the computer, nothing works -- gone. Not sure if this is a problem with the battery or some internal connection. I am thinking about ordering another one just like it -- For 25 bucks, if it will give me another year and a half I will take it. If the new one doesn't work, then I will know it is a problem with the computer or some internal issue.

Was delivered on time as promised but does not work in laptop leaves message on laptop saying unrecognized battery so it will not function in the battery is put in so I do not recommend that you buy this battery
