I've been using Dewalt wire wheels for years and have three of these. I have worked them hard and they simply get the job done removing loose paint, debris, and rust. Two of the three are smooth, one of them seems to be a bit less balanced than the others, but it also has seen a fair amount of use so that's probably normal. Just keep in mind that these will put a hurting on your grinders, so I tend to work for 10 or so minutes, and then swap to a different grinder to let the first cool down. You do need to put some pressure on these to clean things like diamond plate which is where I mostly use them. I have not had any issues with losing wires, at least that impacted me. Wear the proper PPE when using these and keep any loose clothing away from them. If you catch a sharp edge with these, they will take you for a ride, so make sure you always have a good grip on your grinder. I always use a secondary handle when running these, but they make cleaning irregular surfaces much easier, so while I can never say I enjoy running wire wheels, they are often times the best tool for the job.

I'm restoring an old 1955 Ford 640 Tractor that belonged to my grandfather. As you can imagine, it has a lot of rust. This thing has been a life saver for prepping for paint. I was using a little brush attachment for my drill. That was very time consuming. This thing is so much faster and does a better job.

Great for steel too but digs into aluminum

I purchased this product to remove a ~1/4" thick heavy buildup of efflorescence from a brick wall, as the strongest of acids wouldn't touch it. So one of the acid mfgs. confirmed that in extreme cases, mechanical removal is about the only answer, with at least some having success using a cupped wire brush, which I attached to an angle grinder. And Yes, it actually works, by basically grinding away the rock-hard deposits, which still isn't easy or fast. And once most of the buildup has been ground off (hopefully without damaging the bricks surface), I'll follow-up with acid, which may or may not remove the last 2%.

So much easier than a traditional wire brush. I'll never go back! You can't make me go back!

It really works good. I had some sealant leaks on the basement concrete wall that looked really nasty. I ordered this brush to clean the surface. It did cleaned the most of it but some of the stains were hard to remove with this brush. So, those places I used the angle grinder with Concrete/Masonry grinding blade. That helped finish the job. Mainly, the grinding blade does the coarse cleaning and the brush does the fine cleaning. If you are not careful with the grinding blade it would cut groves in the concrete. The brush is perfect for cleaning the rusty stains, dirt stains etc. One thing to keep in mind is that when using this brush it will create a lot of dust (cement) particles in the air and it will spread all over the area. I did not expect it to be that fine dust. I had to clean the stuff on other part of the basement as well along with pressure washing the basement floor as it made a mess.Did a great job, see the pictures.

Excelente calidad, el encastre es de rosca para esmeril angular de 5/8 lo más común en México, limpie óxido profundo de toda una puerta y parece que es eterno pues no se desgasto ni un 10%.

Used this on my battery operated grinder and worked fine. Quality is there and arrived on schedule.

I was feeling guilty about how hard I was pushing this brush on sharp rough steel all day after day for a full week and it still worked great . I must say I have never had a brush hold up to that kind of abuse. Worth the extra premium.
