Will this product work on a tabletop that I have filled small knot holes with clear resin epoxy?

If the wood is raw and sanded, RMC would absorb into the wood; after applying you wipe off excess. It won't absorb into epoxy. If you filled holes with wood dust and glue, it might absorb.

Is one coat really sufficient? Or do you need more for durability? We are putting down red and white solid oak.

For my furniture projects, one coat is okay, but it comes out looking a little dry and matte. 24 hours after putting on the first coat, I sand my furniture lightly with a green or red 3M scotchbrite pad attached to my random orbital sander and apply another coat. The result is a much more even, smooth, more satin finish. It honestly depends on the wood, but it certainly makes a difference with plain sawn red oak plywood, which has deep porous grain. I didn't notice a difference with quarter sawn oak, which has less deep and porous grain. Bottom line is, if you're not satisfied with the finish, then put on another coat after giving it a very light sand and it should come out better.

Can the oil plus 2c "A" be used without the accelerator "B"?

The original Monocoat oil that I used 8 years ago did not have an accelerator... It worked just fine. But that question is a question I would think you should ask of the manufacturer.

durability over time? does occasional dog drool produce grey spots? i read that is the case with rubio on another forum, any other opinion?

We used it on walls, and our little dog very rarely manages to drool there. No problems have occurred on the walls.....

If you want a professional finish to your woodworking projects, this product is an absolute must. It brings out the wonderful grain in the wood and gives it a tough finish.Now I use Rubio mono coat on all my woodworking projects.Make sure to follow the manufacturer instructions and you will have wonderful results too. A little bit of this product goes a long way.Reason for 4 stars is because of the shipping. Product arrived in a dented can and was leaking into the box. I promptly returned the item for a refund and purchased it at a reputable supplier.Basically, the product is awesome but the delivery was less than awesome. Good luck.
