Can i use this for my female calico hamster? She hates dust and i cant seem to be able to find any hamster sand but a user recommend this.

Hey! Calico hamsters do exist! They are also called tortishell Syrian. It is a sex linked trait so only females are calico. As for using the sand, my understanding is yes; they can use it.

No. I just put it in the bowl. But it’s up to you. The hamsters just roll right in it.

What product would you recommend for bleached white sand? many reviewers have commented on the color of this product not being white as pictured.

Yes it is true this is more of a pinkish, super light tan color, but I have heard that sifted playsand/sandbox sand works just as great. Sandbox sand comes in white, and is non-toxic since it's for children. And that stuff is bright white! Just remember that if using sand for any reptile, it shouldn't be used as the only substrate, since most reptiles don't live on sand directly, but more of a flat clay mixture. I just used mine as a slight dusting on my tile for my bearded dragon so cleanup was easier. It's worked wonders!
