Yamaha GigMaker Deluxe Acoustic Guitar Package with FD01S Guitar, Gig Bag, Tuner, Strap and Picks - Natural

I was looking for a guitar that is cheap and good sounding. Of all the guitars in a price range of Less than $150, this guitar captured my attention and then looked for the reviews. After I searched in the worldwide web,I haven't seen as many reviews about this guitar, Yamaha FD01S. I just decided to buy this since, the fact that it's less than 150 bucks, it also has a SOLID top which I always consider when buying a guitar because I want the genuine acoustic tone. I've been playing guitar since 2005 and for me, I know what a good guitar is from other cheap sounding string instruments. Anyways, I bought my FD01S from J&R Music and Computer world for only 109 bucks which I can say the BEST deal ever. Then, placed my order and waited for about 8 days for the package to be delivered since the seller is from NY and I'm from CA. After the long wait, I received my guitar just today and I opened it within minutes after getting it from my doorstep. It's perfectly packaged, very secured and you'll know that the guitar can't be damaged. Then, I opened the box and took the instrument out. I was like "WOW! THIS IS FANTASTIC". I own two guitars way back and because I left my guitar in my home country, Philippines, I decided to buy one. I compared it and I AM REALLY HAPPY because now I can say I really own a REAL guitar. This guitar amazed me because of its very good sound, amplified by the solid top! I really recommend this guitar! For its price, you won't get wrong! I won't buy laminates because it has a different sound. (Maybe you'll know that if you really play a guitar for over 5 years. I've heard hundreds of guitars and this yamaha FD01s passed the sound quality test!) JUST BUY THIS! You'll never regret purchasing this! :) THE BEST GUITAR! FOR A CHEAP PRICE! :)

I was actually interested in buying something under $200. The deal seemed pretty good to me. So went with that. I got the guitar and it sounds really good. Along with the Yamaha FD01S it comes with a very nice digital electronic tuner, Gig bag, pics, extra strings, strap and an instructional DVD and with no shipping charges. One thing that I do notice is everyday when I play I see the tuning has changed a little bit. I see a variation of around +-20 decibels every other day. However, it could be because of room temperature variations or because of playing itself, so can't complain. I don't mind turning the knobs a little bit to re-tune it.

Delivery is sooner than expected. Guitar arrived in perfect condition. The wood is very well treated, dry and sound nicely after overall outside inspection. The strings are still intactly lose in its original conditions, will update about sound quality after Christmas.

Just a great guitar for the price. Yamaha makes excellent instruments, and this is no exception. It's a beginner model so the sound is good-but-not-great in comparison to Yamaha's professional guitars. But it plays really well, it stays in tune, and it has a truss rod and a solid top. It's a really nice starter guitar that will last a long time. I bought this for my son to learn on. It will easily get him through the first couple of years of learning. When he gets more mature (i.e., less likely to damage an expensive guitar) and develops the chops to play for real, then I will let him select a more professional guitar, and this will become his beater for campfires, travel, etc. I expect that he will keep this guitar for a very long time.

Yamaha has the best sounding guitars in my book. This one is no exception. It is well crafted and very bright. My only complaint is that the neck has blemishes in it. It appears that they are a factory defect. Otherwise this guitar plays wonderfully and is perfect for both beginners and professionals. The strings are close to the neck from top to bottom. It is easy to tune as well. I put mine in a soft case for several months. I took it out and strummed it. It was still in tune. After the initial break in of the strings these guitars will hold their own. When properly stored you can break it out and play a tune and it will sound good. In my book, Yamaha is the best guitar for your money!
