Can't adjust sample rate on Windows desktop it's grey and set to 16 bit 44100hz cd quality was hoping to raise it but its not an option?

Please ensure that the SoundBlasterX G1 is not running in PS4 profile via the X-Plus configurator.  You need  to configure this option using the X-Plus Configurator software. Choose and upload the "Generic" configuration. This setting applies whenever the Sound BlasterX G1 is only intended for normal usage on a PC/Mac.

Question 2

What does it output from the ps4?  7.1, 5.1, or stereo?   Which one does it do?

This DAC, unlike some more advanced devices, outputs only 2.0 stereo to a standard headphone jack. It is not a 5.1 or 7.1 device! It simulates surround in software, which sounds every bit as terrible as you would expect. If you want actual surround, get the Soundblaster X G6 instead.

Device was working normally until i used x-plus configurator i have to unplug the device and re-plug the device after every shutdown or restart why?

I rhink it's a Microsoft thing. I have to do that after every update. Nvidia does the same thing when i update my graphics drivers, it will make HDMI au ado in the graphics card the sound card.

Will this device work on  Linux computer and if so does it support a headset microphone?

Sound BlasterX G1 does not support Linux OS. It has following system requirements:

Headset microphone is supported if connector is CTIA (Cellular Telecommunication Industry Association) standard.
