how wide is the widest part of 10-inch wide bread knife?

The widest part is where blade and handle meet. As close as I can tell, it is 1 3/4 inches. The knife is very sharp. I have limited storage so I later purchased the Mercer Culinary 10" X 2" knife guard.

Why is the black handle wide wavy bread knife (m23210) $24.73 and the grey/white wide wavy bread knife (m23210gy) $17.00? a $7.73 difference!

Wish I knew. I couldn't figure that out either. Same knife though as I have purchased a blue, a gray, and black. I have given two as gifts. All the same.

Is the bread knife sharpened on both sides. I am left handed, and the Victorinox one I use is on sharpened just for righties.
