Great compression - would recommend. Great for sports (football)!
Granted, I've only worn this twice since I received it last week, but so far am very satisfied. My knee has been bothering me for 4 weeks and I was too stubborn to go to an orthopedist, get an MRI, etc., but I am self-diagnosed as having a partial medial meniscus tear or possibly arthritis (pain on the inside of my left knee that started while playing flag football).I have been healing slowly over the past few weeks, but my progress was stalled and I have not been able to jog or run (my life is all about sprinting and lateral movements involved in football)! When I received this brace, I did rehab on a stationary bike and felt comfortable really pushing it up to resistance 10, whereas I was stuck on 5 or 7 in the past week or 2. After the bike, I got on the treadmill for a light jog and was actually able to jog at 4.0 with no pain. The day before I had tried this, but was unable to even walk on the treadmill with no pain (WITHOUT the brace). The day after, I got on the field to play football and felt much more confident and mobile.I would say this is a very good investment. Be sure to measure your leg properly - I did and received the correct size (M). This is far superior to the cheap ACE brace you can get at a pharmacy (which I was wearing prior). I'd say the only caveat is that it fits really well on the skin (wearing shorts in an indoor gym), but can chafe the back of your knee a bit; and wearing it on the field (outdoors), I have to put it on over a pair of leggings, so this could stretch it out. Oh well, it can't be perfect. I still feel like over leggings it compressed my joint really well.Overall, excellent product and would recommend to all suffering from instability or joint pain or partial tear or old injury.

Provides good knee support
I'm not big, but a Medium felt tight. I guess that is how it is supposed to feel. After wearing it while jogging and on long walks I found it provided good support for my knee. It won't help if you have muscle problems, but will help if you have some discomfort due to ligament or tendon strain.

utility as a brace, robustness of the product since it is for outdoor use.
A good solid knee brace. It supports the knee fairly well and is fairly comfortable. It is slightly fragile and one should pull it on using the yellow side support braces or it will tear if it is a tight fit. It does a fairly good job bracing but I am still trying to evaluate the patella support since i suffer from patellofemoral disorder. It does protect the patella but I will need to use it more to figure out if it supports as well as specific patella braces.

In an entirely different category from other braces I've tried
I've tried a couple cheaper brands of knee brace before, and this one blew them away in two major ways.First and foremost, efficacy. I practice martial arts (BJJ and karate) pretty regularly, and I've been developing a little bit of knee pain lately. Every other knee brace I've put on while working out before has _helped_, but not really fundamentally changed my situation. My knees would still hurt, just not as much. This thing, on the other hand, completely relieved my pain. I woke up with a little bit of soreness in my knee, put one of these braces on and then went to jiu jitsu and rolled for about an hour, and afterwards that knee felt _perfect_, like nothing had ever been wrong with it. I can't praise the results of this thing highly enough. The second big difference is comfort. The other braces I've tried have basically come in two flavors. One of them was a segmented contraption with three separate velcro attachments on the back, one below the knee, one behind it, and one above it. Which should theoretically be okay, but in practice the straps would often end up getting squished together and pinching some skin, and it wouldn't stay put very well. Then I tried one that was basically just a fabric tube you shove your leg through, which stayed in place better, but had one critical flaw: there was just as much material on the back of the knee as the front, which means when my leg bent it would bunch up behind the knee and chafe. That got extremely uncomfortable. The Bauerfeind is basically like the second type, with one crucial difference--it's actually woven with more material on the front of the knee than the back. It also has a lighter, more loosely knit fabric, which helps as well. The result of it all is that I had absolutely no discomfort after wearing it for an extended period of time.Of course the other factor is staying in place, which I'm afraid is something of a struggle with every knee brace. I had _much_ less trouble keeping this one in place than I did with any other brace, but I did still feel the need to fidget with it a couple of times in an hour. Although most of the time it turned out I really didn't need to adjust it at all, it's just that it naturally sits a little bit low on your kneecap because of the way the gel ring is contoured

I am pleased, and has helped with my confidence for the ...
I've been struggling to get any consistency with my running after Meniscus and cartilage surgery in the knee, the stability being the issue with the injury irritating me after three miles. Since I had previously refrained from any supports and pain killers, I looked for a sporting knee brace to help with this. This was a bit more pricey than I was willing to pay, but within a two weeks I had managed to run a half marathon and various six milers. This helped to settle things down! It has just enough support in the correct places and does not restrict movement, helps in all the correct areas to get over the hump of stability from weakened muscles. I am pleased, and has helped with my confidence for the longer runs.

IT WORKS!!
I partially tore my meniscus in my left knee a couple months ago and had to go to physical therapy. I was wearing a different brand of a knee sleeve. My therapist said it was okay but recommended this if I could afford it. I sent away for it, and it happened to arrive on a day that I had to go bowling (which I do 3 times a week). Wore it that night and it felt great. Sometimes my knee will have a little pain, and I put on this brace, and the pain stops immediately. Highly recommend it. A little expensive, but worth every dollar.
