The best
This is a great leash, it gives you extra safety in case your prong collar pops off, you’re still hooked onto the dogs flat collar. I’ve had that happen and it was scary! This gives you extra security.

Walk with Confidence
Every bit as durable as you would expect a leather harness to be to keep your best friend safe. The walking handle and strap have enough girth to be able to grab, and enough pliability to not chafe at the wrist. Even while wet, the leather remains grippable - not slippery. (The leather will need to be worked a bit, after getting wet, to return to its normal, supple state.)I use this leash with a Gentle Leader. Though the Gentle Leader has the built-in safety which goes around the dog’s head, I am grateful for the back-up strap that attaches to the collar. I am confident that if my dog slips the nose harness, I will still have a solid grip and good control.Because I am short and my dog is tall, I do find that this leash is about two feet too long. It is a lot of lead to pull back on in an emergency. The traffic handle is also farther away from the hardware than I am normally comfortable with, but that is a design necessity because of the second strap. I usually find myself grabbing the leash itself, as close to the end as possible, when I need better control. While I wish that this leash had options of different lengths, and maybe a lower price tag (those two points account for the missing star), it was a quality purchase. I would recommend that, depending on the user’s stature and the size of the dog, one might spare the cost of the traffic handle and purchase the model without. But, it is a worthwhile purchase, nonetheless. I would buy [the model without the traffic handle] again, and I would recommend [both models] to others as well.

Love this leash!
I have purchased Leerburg's Amish leather products before, so I already know they are quality. I got this leash to match my dog's black Leerburg leather collar. I have never had any issues with my Herm Sprenger prong collar over many years, but I like that there is an extra clasp to attach to my dog's flat leather collar just in case it should ever come apart for any reason. It's like insurance. The leash itself is great. The short handle is just right for walking on sidewalks, or during times when I would rather my dog stay close by my side. However, sometimes I find myself making clicking sounds with my tongue like I'm directing a horse... and for some reason, my dog responds quite nicely to these clicks. I finally realized that the leather reminds me of holding leather reins. Also, the leash is beautiful. It's a keeper and will last. I have already given my previous dog's leather collar to my new dog, and it's still in great shape. I expect this leash to last for the rest of my life. So, it's worth the price.

Great leash
We’ve gone through a lot of different leashes and finally decided to spend the extra money on this leash. All the hardware seems to be very good quality and the overall craftsmanship is great. The traffic handle is placed in a very comfortable spot. The only suggestion - which I don’t know if it’s possible or not, using a swivel attachment where the collar clips attach to the leash itself. I would definitely recommend and buy again!

THE best leather leash you’ll find...
Leerburg has THE best quality leather leashes and collars you can buy. You get what you pay for. Doesn’t take long for the leash to break-in at which point it’s got an excellent ‘feel’ to it. Great weight. Anyone using a prong collar should always use some form of backup collar (thin slip/dominant dog collar), in case the prong fails. It shouldn’t if your using Herm Sprenger, but why take a chance.

Total control!
I have a 110 lb. Rescue that was very aggressive toward everything! This leash, along with the prong collar, has made walking this dog a pleasure!

Very High Quality
This leash is made of a very high quality leather. I know that Leerburg has quality products but I was still surprised. I only have a few "bad" things to say about it.-I wish the lower handle was a bit lower / closer to the clips. That could be because I'm short so that's pretty subjective.-Walking my dog with the leash across the front of my trousers caused some of the black leather stain (I'm not entirely sure that's what it was) to come off on my trousers. A quick wash took care of this, it was not permanent.-Leerburg suggests that you use the "dominant dog collar" along with this, however I used his regular flat collar. When doing so correcting the dog would result in the proper prong correction but also a bit of a tug on his flat collar. If it were longer this wouldn't have happened. Using the recommended dominant dog collar may fix problem.I would definitely recommend it to others.

Great item.
I ordered two leashes just to be on the safe side . There were out of stock several times. It is one of the best leashes I have ever owned. And I owned large breeds for several years. Its beautifully made and the two handles are extremely helpful. The two ends for the collar is a PLUS. .I hook the small arm to the harness the long one to the collar. There is NO way for a "puller " to get away even if one snaps. My Max is very well trained BUT ….. one never knows. We always have to remember they are driven by animal instinct no matter how well trained they are.
