I'm So Hurt - Her First Four Albums And More ORIGINAL RECORDINGS REMASTERED SET

I had the privilege of meeting the late, great, Timi Yuro at her parents Italian restaurant in Hollywood, Alvaturno's. This was in about 1958. Timi had bolstered the restaurant's business by hosting talent shows (before Karaoke,) I got up on a dare from my friends and sang "Runaway," by Del Shannon. My voice broke on the high part of the Bridge! All my friends dove under the tables in mock distress! I was embarrassed, to say the least!Timi Yuro gives you more "bang for your buck," than any singer outside of Shirley Bassey. Her great big voice has a beautiful vibrato to it. She has the uncanny ability to sound just like Dinah Washington--whom she loved! It's indeed sad, that such a great talented woman with that great big, emotionally charged voice, had to succumb to throat cancer. Every song, on this 2CD set is a keeper. She could sing the phone book--and she would put feeling into it! I only wish I had gone to one of her club appearances and heard her in person, giving it her all.

Completely satisfied all the way around

I have the originals on LP, I was so glad to have found this on CD, the sound on the LP'S are better to my ear, but this set is no slouch either (LP'S sound only as good as the playback equipment will allow, if your LP turntable cartridge are inexpensive low level units you may not understand what I have written)

The great Timi Yuro sings her heart out on this cd. This is a very generous collection that includes her first 4 albums and some added material that shows off her great singing voice. If you like Timi Yuro, I strongly suggest that you purchase this cd because you get more than your money,s worth with this collection.John Walsh

It took a good while to get them but they arrived with no damage.

I saw Timi in person while overseas. She was right next to me and had the most powerful voice. I loved her. I bought her LPs and was hoping to have them on CD with this release. However I was very disappointed. Several of the LPs here are mono! Liberty always had great stereo. I have them in stereo and to see them on this CD in mono is very disappointing!

What I really like is the speed of the delivery. The CD is great I love her voice.

CD①28曲 time 75:59 CD②27曲 time 72:11Timi Yuro ( Rosemarie Timotea Aurro シカゴ出身のイタリア系アメリカ人 １９４０~２００４ )・・・一度聞いたら忘れられない名前。しかし、本当に忘れられないのはその歌声。The Little Girl With The Big Voiceとはよく言ったもの。個人的にはソウル・ミュージックに主体的に興味がなくて、たとえばアレサ・フランクリンのアルバムを一枚 Full に聞くなど苦行に等しいのだが、この Timi Yuro は別格。偶然ベストアルバムが耳に入りその瞬間から歌声が頭から離れなくなった。最初の４枚のアルバム❶ Hurt !!!!!!!❷ Soul !❸ What's A Matter Baby❹ Let Me Call You Sweetheartにその関連曲を加えた全５５曲驚くのは、その中から任意にランダムに１０曲を選び出して一つに括っても個人的には全く不満が出ないこと。いかに平均点が高く、かつ各曲に凸凹がないかということなのだが、一曲もイヤな曲、外してほしい曲がない。(一般に知られているとすれば Stardust と B.B.King の名唱がある Guess Who ぐらいか)最良の " blue-eyed soul " がここにあるのだが、もうひとつ驚くのは、その実力・センス・歌唱力に釣り合う評価がないらしいこと。エルビス・プレスリーが彼女のファンで " Hurt (このアルバムの一曲目) " をカバーしたらしいというのは「せめても」。

Thought I was in for good things when I saw this , But to be fair up till this time I had only heard her do 'Hurt'...But sad to say on the whole this cd is not for me
