The Portfolio Book of Great Indian Business Stories: Riveting Tales of Business Leaders and Their Times

Poor imitation of Business Adventures by John Brooks.
I am about halfway through this book and, for the first time ever, I am debating whether to abandon it. Going in to it, I thought it might be a little like Business Adventures by John Brooks but I was very very wrong. The author simply fills up each chapter with material from OTHER business journalists. While this doesn't break the book, the poor (unexciting) writing style and obvious inaccuracies and bias is painful. After reading the fan-boy style writing in chapter 3 about Ratan Tata I have lost all hope for the book. This book would have been vastly improved had there been some common theme to the chapters, such as pre-Independence Indian business struggles, or business conflicts etc. Save for the 5!!! chapters about the Tatas and Co., there is nothing particularly unifying the chapters.I would NOT recommend this book, and would instead direct a tentative reader to look at the primary sources this author EXTENSIVELY references from. Better still, would be to forget trying to find an Indian version of Business Adventures are go for books written by proven business journalists.

Contents totally different from the title
Contents of the book were completely different from the title. They were something about George Orwell or from a book by him. The publisher is perhaps responsible for this since they did not bind the book with right contents.

Disappointed
I was looking forward to read this book. Unfortunately the copy I received had the cover of the above book but the content was of another book (1984- George Orwell). Had to return the book back.
