It was great, until it started having problems (UPDATED)
UPDATE (9/7/22): Eufy's customer service was quick to respond via email and, after I described the issues we were having and attempts we took to correct them, quickly sent us a new replacement monitor. I was on the fence whether to give this updated review five stars considering the issues that we experienced with our original monitor, but we really do love this product and I'm a sucker for great customer service. I still believe it is one of the best baby monitor options on the market, and I'm hopeful that this replacement monitor will last for years to come. If it doesn't, I'll come back with another update. ORIGINAL REVIEW: We've had this baby monitor for about 6 months and, up until recently, absolutely loved it. The sound and picture quality are great, even in low light. The wireless connection has great range and it HAD great battery life. Unfortunately, over the past few weeks it has started shutting down without warning, even while plugged in. No alerts, no beeps, it just dies silently in the middle of the night. What good is a baby monitor that you can't trust because it randomly stops working while you are asleep? This is apparently a common problem. There is a small reset button that, when pressed, will fix whatever software/firmware glitch is causing the excessive battery drain. Unfortunately, it is a temporary fix. We have had reset our unit now twice now over the last week. I will update this review once I am able to speak with someone from Eufy customer support.

Hard to beat and so easy a dad can even use it
This is the “go to” for travel monitor for wife and I. It’s not Wifi based so plug and play is simple. Monitor has plenty of sound and screen is very clear. We’ve used it in many different environments and it’s performed great overall. The battery life on monitor is great and the camera panning is very controlled. We have a nanit at home but this thing is so simple it’s hard to beat…matter of fact, it’s our preferred when we travel. Range topped out at about 550 ft direct line of sight then it cuts out. It will hold a picture and sound from 250 feet all day, and that is through the walls of the house.

Does NOT work
I wanted to love this monitor. I thought I’d found THE ONE. If you are in the market for a monitor sadly this isn’t the one for you. Trust me. I am so completely disappointed in this product and company for continuing to sell an item this faulty. I wanted to love this monitor so much that I really tested my patience here and went through 4 different Eufy monitors. No joke. Four. In a matter of 2 months. My favorite feature about this monitor was the VOX feature. I have found that not a lot of monitors in the market have this feature. As a light sleeper the monitor goes idle, no background noise, and with VOX an alarm goes off as soon as my baby started making noises. As a parent of a newborn I got great sleep because of this feature. The first one worked wonderfully in the beginning but then the alarm started going off ALL the time even when baby was sleeping. It seemed to go off at any noise like his sound machine, bass from our tv in another room, lawn mower.. everything. That’s when I exchanged for a new one. The next 3 wouldn’t hold a charge at all. I’d plug them in and the battery would never get full again. Even while plugged the monitor would no longer stay on. At the third monitor I called Eufy and told them the situation. They quickly replaced it and that’s how I got to try a fourth monitor. Their customer service was great, responsive, & understanding but even the replacement didn’t work. Eufy, I’m not sure why you continue to offer this product. You should really consider pulling it from all retail stores because it’s clear something went wrong at manufacturing this product. No parent of a newborn should have to deal with a defective product like this. Not only are we sleep deprived but we don’t have time to go back and forth with a product that is known to not work properly. Please consider discontinuing the sales of this item & working on a new manufacturing of the battery on your monitors because the ones on shelves are duds. All of them. Steer clear of this item. Don’t consider it unless you want a headache and to spend what little free time you do have returning or exchanging this monitor.

Fine when it worked, now its a brick
I purchased this in Fall of 2021 and purchased a second camera a few months later. This set-up worked fine for about a year, then I had problems with charging the console. The light would blink on and off and the only way I could get it to charge was to face it screen down? A few months later I received 'firmware' updates that lo and behold only work if you have a non-Apple Device. I do not want to use my job or my friends' Windows or Linux devices to manage the update so... Lucky Me, I am out of luck...now I have a non-working baby monitor and 2 working cameras. This is disappointing - the whole point me of investing in this Eufy system was to have the baby monitor from infant-hood to toddler-hood. When my kid was sick with a fever and cold I wanted the reassurance of seeing my baby at night and seeing him breathe - I lost that reassurance once this monitor broke. At night I still reach out for the baby monitor out of habit to check on my kid, and each time I'm reminded that this Eufy monitor is a now a brick. Sometimes I try it just to see if it will randomly turn on, and sometimes it does. I keep thinking it will 'just work' the way it did... I am disappointed in the Eufy Brand - I trusted Eufy to help me keep an eye on my kid and when I needed it. Now, I need to invest in a different baby monitoring system because my child will soon be ready for a toddler bed. When it worked, I would have said great system for monitoring your kid but now I'd say: Parents -- do not get this system if you plan on using it for over a year and do not have an easy way to update the firmware.

Excellent monitor even long term
We’ve been using this regularly for 3 years with 2 different new babies and older kids and it’s going strong. Definitely recommend. The distance that it can reach to the outdoors isn’t super great but it can at least make it to our mailbox which isn’t terrible. The battery life is good, & the plug is still working just fine. We’ve had 2-3 other video monitors before this one, so comparably it is great. And I didn’t get anything for writing this review. Happy to answer any questions if you submit and I get an email about it as Amazon will sometimes do!

Issues after warranty is up
It worked great for about a year and then we started to have connectivity issues and charging issues. Warranty is a year, Issues begin around 14 months.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: (looking around after reviewing, it seems like this is a common problem) This product worked great for the first few months! We use it every night and once a day for naps. Randomly after 9 months of easy, typical use, the product no longer maintains a charge. It needs to be plugged in otherwise it just shuts off after a few seconds with the empty battery light. When it is plugged in, it appears to be charging, but the second it's unplugged it's clear the battery was not charging. Last night, it also turned off in the middle of the night, despite being plugged in. This has never happened before, but it caused us to not hear our baby when he woke up in the morning. We are beyond the 2-3 month return or support window, but for an $180 product, I would hope it would last at least a year! We were planning on getting the exact same one for our new baby due in a few months and are reconsidering now.

great product, even better customer service!
we've had this monitor for about a year now. its been absoluteluy wonderful. theres no wifi to worry about, weve brought it to numerous family and friends houses and it instantly connects to the camera and has great range. the picture is excellent, night vision is clear and you can see your baby doing all the goofy things you never get a chance to watch them do. it has a microphone feature that we havent used much but your able to talk through it. you can also set a threshold for the noise that is required to "trip" the camera into activating. so if your baby is a loud sleeper (like ours), or if you use a noise machine, you can set the threshold higher and it only turns the monitor on when they're actually crying. you can move the camera remotely and it has a 2x and 3x times zoom. you can also set it to play lullaby's. enough with the camera, the customer service! we had an issue with our monitor recently and euphy customer service was top notch. timely responses (about once every business day) and super understanding and easy to work with. we were planning on getting a second camera for our next baby and I am 100% going to use euphy. I've been going back and forth on whether I want home security cameras and through navigating their site and customer service, i saw that they also sell home security cameras, which I will also 100% purchase from euphy when I decide. great customer service goes such a long way they have me hooked on their products, not only for great quality, but i know that quality is backed up by someone who will help you out if you run into issues

Disappointed
I requested a refund from Jan until July I did not receive my money back! The problem was the monitor only worked within few steps away once I stepped out the room the connection is lost.

Monitor Battery Dying
The battery of the monitor keeps dying no matter how long I keep it plugged. This is so frustrating, i only had the camera for 2 months
